This was my first time dining at Giovanni’s, and it absolutely did not disappoint. My family and I have been going to Joe’s for over 20 years, so when they opened the restaurant, I honestly thought it would just be an extension of the deli. I was wrong — it’s so much more.
From the moment we walked in, the food, the service, and the overall vibe were amazing. Everything felt elevated and thoughtfully done. The staff checked on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying everything, and the manager even came over to introduce herself and start a friendly conversation, which was such a nice, personal touch.
My son is one of the hosts, and he also made sure to check on us a few times — which made the experience even more special for our family.
Overall, Giovanni’s has gained a returning customer. Highly recommend!
The food, no complaints at all. Nonnas Meatballs were delicious. I had the Vodka Chicken Parmigiana and I was NOT expecting that portion size. The waiter brought it out and I said “This the portion size for 3 people?” He laughed lol but it was very good.
My wife has the pork chop with the sausage and peppers and mashed potatoes, which see said was good but just a lil too salty for her. (The glaze)
But overall, will definitely go again…
This restaurant has only been in business for one year, but they are always busy and now I see why. If you’re familiar with Joe’s Meat Market, which is next-door, their young son Giovanni opened up this restaurant a year ago.
I was surprised with a birthday dinner on 2/21/26. A RESERVATION was made and I highly recommend it. I also recommend VALET PARKING. because It becomes very difficult to park on the street. It was full all the way around the block.
Upon checking in,I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. I was seated within 5 minutes.
The dining area is one large room with different size tables from one end of the room to the other. It can get a little tight with some of the tables close together. They have private dining too which is nice for a group.
I started with their FRIED CALAMARI- it was piled high fresh and really good. The calamari was cooked perfectly, golden brown, light and crispy. The MARINARA SAUCE was fresh and delicious. It was one of the best fried calamari I’ve had in a long time.Even the tentacles were tender and good.
On the table came warm PESTO FOCACCIA,It was very tasty.
This is a BYOB restaurant which is nice, and it helps keep the cost down. Giovanni’s will supply the glasses.
The entire time i was there I never had to ask for my water glass to be refilled. The bus boys Daniel and AJ along with Alyson they did a great job. The manager Jose came over a few times to check on us and see how everything was going including how we liked our dinner.
Based on the recommendation from the hostess, I decided to try their CHICKEN PARMIGIANA with VODKA SAUCE. ( you can also order it with their house marinara instead of vodka sauce.)
I was so surprised when it arrived. In front of me was placed a huge platter. It had three large Breaded Chicken Cutlets Smothered in Homemade Vodka Sauce topped with Melted Mozzarella Cheese, served over Penne Pasta with VODKA SAUCE.It was literally enough for three people and very good . The vodka sauce was delicious. The chicken cutlets were tender and rich my pasta was cooked al dente. All Giovanni’s PASTA’S are handcrafted and homemade.
My bf ordered their CHICKEN FRANCAISE. This dish came with three pieces of Chicken Breasts Battered in a White Wine, and Lemon Butter Sauce. It was served with fresh Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes. My bf thoroughly enjoyed his dish. The portions are very generous here, and we both had leftovers.
I did see a lot of people ordering their CHARCUTERIE BOARDS, and their STEAK and LOBSTER BOARDS. Both looked amazing! You can order them for 2 or more people. It’s served family style.
They also offer a CHILDREN’S MENU. They even serve gluten-free kids pasta.
GIOVANNI’S offers some GLUTEN FREE DISHES along with some VEGETARIAN DISHES.
Because it was my birthday my waiter asked what I’d like for DESSERT. I chose their CHOCOLATE GANACHE MOUSSE CAKE and they brought it out on another huge platter decorated with happy birthday written in Chocolate and it was served with a birthday candle.
After my birthday dinner I was brought to the kitchen and I met young Giovanni the owner and chef. He couldn’t have been nicer. He was very friendly, energetic and thanked us for coming.
This place is striving every day to improve, and work out the kinks.
I will definitely be returning to try some of their other great dishes
I started with Nonnas meatballs and they came out steaming hot, full of flavor, and plated like the kitchen actually cares. A fantastic start.
For my entree I went with the vodka chicken parm. This was new for me since I am used to the traditional red sauce, but the vodka sauce was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. The portion was massive. You get large tender cutlets on a plate that could double as a small serving tray. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared.
Service was spot on. The staff was attentive and kept things moving without hovering. Between the quality of the food and how well you are taken care of, the pricing makes sense.
Only downside is the parking. It is very limited and for how busy this place gets, you might find yourself circling a bit before landing a spot.
Overall I would definitely come back and I highly recommend it. I took plenty of pictures because the presentation matched the flavor. If you are craving Italian and you are in the area, Giovannis is worth the stop.
The service, however, was a bit lacking. While the staff was friendly, it felt like they were seriously understaffed. Once our food was dropped off, no one checked on us, and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to get the check.
Despite the service issues, the quality of the food and the portion sizes make this place worth visiting. With a little more staffing, this restaurant could easily be a standout.
