Let’s do it. We went i’m Valentine’s Day a 2 Hour Dr. really excited so much hype about it on Instagram. What they failed to tell you is that this establishment does not serve liquor so it’s BYOB which isn’t a problem. The service was good until it wasn’t. We were seated right away the party that we were going with was running late but that was OK. They waited for them and didn’t make us give up our table, so thank you for that. They had a special Valentine’s Day menu and they had the regular menu. I went for the seafood explosion and whatever you call the plate. It was mandatory that I have that we had a waitress named Stephanie and AGAIN. Stephanie was good until she wasn’t when our party got there we ordered the calamari was phenomenal. Nice light not chewy. We also had heart shaped raviolis, which were cute and good and the people that we went with they had mozzarella sticks, which looked amazing. We ordered the seafood platter. They ordered chicken Parm with tortellini their food had to come out like about 25 minutes. Our food came out after they finished eating, so I want to say close to an hour and when it came out, the shrimp weren’t seared nicely. The scallops weren’t seared nicely. They were sautéed and thrown on the plate. The lobster tail was cold. The best thing about the plate to me was the octopus because it was hot and it was good. To give them a little credit maybe because the place is so popular now that’s why they couldn’t handle the crowd and honestly I should’ve picked another day but that was the day to go so I experienced it. I did it. I wish it was hot piping and good like you see on Instagram, but it is what it is. I tried it and I won’t be trying it again.

Giovanni’s – First Visit & Definitely Not the Last!
This was my first time dining at Giovanni’s, and it absolutely did not disappoint. My family and I have been going to Joe’s for over 20 years, so when they opened the restaurant, I honestly thought it would just be an extension of the deli. I was wrong — it’s so much more.
From the moment we walked in, the food, the service, and the overall vibe were amazing. Everything felt elevated and thoughtfully done. The staff checked on us multiple times to make sure we were enjoying everything, and the manager even came over to introduce herself and start a friendly conversation, which was such a nice, personal touch.
My son is one of the hosts, and he also made sure to check on us a few times — which made the experience even more special for our family.
Overall, Giovanni’s has gained a returning customer. Highly recommend!

Made a dinner reservation for 2 and this place was great, we weren’t in the main dining area but there was a separate room that we were in with another group of 9 that were dining in. (Great group by the way) So it was a somewhat non expected private setting we had which was cool.

The food, no complaints at all. Nonnas Meatballs were delicious. I had the Vodka Chicken Parmigiana and I was NOT expecting that portion size. The waiter brought it out and I said “This the portion size for 3 people?” He laughed lol but it was very good.

My wife has the pork chop with the sausage and peppers and mashed potatoes, which see said was good but just a lil too salty for her. (The glaze)

But overall, will definitely go again…

This was my first time here, and my review is based off of that.
This restaurant has only been in business for one year, but they are always busy and now I see why. If you’re familiar with Joe’s Meat Market, which is next-door, their young son Giovanni opened up this restaurant a year ago.
I was surprised with a birthday dinner on 2/21/26. A RESERVATION was made and I highly recommend it. I also recommend VALET PARKING. because It becomes very difficult to park on the street. It was full all the way around the block.
Upon checking in,I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff. I was seated within 5 minutes.
The dining area is one large room with different size tables from one end of the room to the other. It can get a little tight with some of the tables close together. They have private dining too which is nice for a group.
I started with their FRIED CALAMARI- it was piled high fresh and really good. The calamari was cooked perfectly, golden brown, light and crispy. The MARINARA SAUCE was fresh and delicious. It was one of the best fried calamari I’ve had in a long time.Even the tentacles were tender and good.
On the table came warm PESTO FOCACCIA,It was very tasty.
This is a BYOB restaurant which is nice, and it helps keep the cost down. Giovanni’s will supply the glasses.
The entire time i was there I never had to ask for my water glass to be refilled. The bus boys Daniel and AJ along with Alyson they did a great job. The manager Jose came over a few times to check on us and see how everything was going including how we liked our dinner.
Based on the recommendation from the hostess, I decided to try their CHICKEN PARMIGIANA with VODKA SAUCE. ( you can also order it with their house marinara instead of vodka sauce.)
I was so surprised when it arrived. In front of me was placed a huge platter. It had three large Breaded Chicken Cutlets Smothered in Homemade Vodka Sauce topped with Melted Mozzarella Cheese, served over Penne Pasta with VODKA SAUCE.It was literally enough for three people and very good . The vodka sauce was delicious. The chicken cutlets were tender and rich my pasta was cooked al dente. All Giovanni’s PASTA’S are handcrafted and homemade.
My bf ordered their CHICKEN FRANCAISE. This dish came with three pieces of Chicken Breasts Battered in a White Wine, and Lemon Butter Sauce. It was served with fresh Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes. My bf thoroughly enjoyed his dish. The portions are very generous here, and we both had leftovers.
I did see a lot of people ordering their CHARCUTERIE BOARDS, and their STEAK and LOBSTER BOARDS. Both looked amazing! You can order them for 2 or more people. It’s served family style.
They also offer a CHILDREN’S MENU. They even serve gluten-free kids pasta.
GIOVANNI’S offers some GLUTEN FREE DISHES along with some VEGETARIAN DISHES.
Because it was my birthday my waiter asked what I’d like for DESSERT. I chose their CHOCOLATE GANACHE MOUSSE CAKE and they brought it out on another huge platter decorated with happy birthday written in Chocolate and it was served with a birthday candle.
After my birthday dinner I was brought to the kitchen and I met young Giovanni the owner and chef. He couldn’t have been nicer. He was very friendly, energetic and thanked us for coming.
This place is striving every day to improve, and work out the kinks.
I will definitely be returning to try some of their other great dishes

Food is excellent! Calamari and homemade pasta is amazing! Steak was also very good, and they were so accommodating as we asked for roasted potatoes instead of mashed for a side and didn’t make us feel bad about making the sub. Service was great! Definitely would come back.

Giovannis on Clinton Street is one of those places that totally surprises you. From the outside it looks like a simple house in a residential area, nothing flashy, nothing that screams Italian cuisine. Inside it is comfortable but not the classic old world Italian decor you might expect. Thankfully the food is what really does the talking here.

I started with Nonnas meatballs and they came out steaming hot, full of flavor, and plated like the kitchen actually cares. A fantastic start.

For my entree I went with the vodka chicken parm. This was new for me since I am used to the traditional red sauce, but the vodka sauce was rich, smooth, and absolutely delicious. The portion was massive. You get large tender cutlets on a plate that could double as a small serving tray. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared.

Service was spot on. The staff was attentive and kept things moving without hovering. Between the quality of the food and how well you are taken care of, the pricing makes sense.

Only downside is the parking. It is very limited and for how busy this place gets, you might find yourself circling a bit before landing a spot.

Overall I would definitely come back and I highly recommend it. I took plenty of pictures because the presentation matched the flavor. If you are craving Italian and you are in the area, Giovannis is worth the stop.

It was a busy Friday night but once we met our waiter the service was great.. Everything we ordered was delicious and we always enjoy a BYOB place.. The only con is the tables are a little tight but that is just being picky.. We will definitely be back to try more menu options..

I came to Giovanni’s for the first today and Everything was great! Starting with the ambiance. The place is beautiful and nicely decorated but let’s get to the food. The food was AMAZING. I had a surf and turf . Let’s just say it was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had the short rib tortellini and that was delicious as well. I highly recommend if you plan on coming.

This Italian restaurant truly impressed us with its food and value. The portions were very generous, especially considering how well below average the prices were-you definitely get more than what you pay for here. Everything we ordered was delicious and clearly made with care, making the meal the highlight of our visit.
The service, however, was a bit lacking. While the staff was friendly, it felt like they were seriously understaffed. Once our food was dropped off, no one checked on us, and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes just to get the check.
Despite the service issues, the quality of the food and the portion sizes make this place worth visiting. With a little more staffing, this restaurant could easily be a standout.

First time there. Dinner was a 10 out of 10. Shrimp scampi and NY Strip. Good size portions. Ordered appetizers and dessert they were just ok. Pistachio cheesecake looked amazing but was missing sugar or something. Definitely will be back!
