Reviews
Food: I ordered some strawberry pancakes with some sweet mascarpone cheese because it reminded me of a meal I had in Chicago. The flavor blew my mind, I didn’t even need any syrup. The waitress also gave me some garlic knots as a “free bread” and it might be some of the best I have ever had.
Aesthetic; really nice looking place inside with a comfortable dance floor near the bar. Bar is nice, well stocked.
Service: I can’t begin to say how sweet Alexa was the entire time. Super helpful, kind, and chatted with me a little bit about the place. She is a great waitress and they are lucky to have her.
We ordered the strawberry pancake, which was very good but the Steak and Eggs were a miss for two reasons, (1) we asked for medium but it came out well done so it was very dry and (2) it was suppose to be a skirt steak but for some reason, they were out and didn’t tell us so they gave us Shell Steak without informing us about the change.
Overall, it was not bad, but the service for the food to come took about 30- 40 minutes to come out, while others that sat down a little after us got it much faster, which was annoying.
I also highly recommend the spicy margarita!
For our appetizer we had the fried calamari and we shared the margarita and prosciutto pizza. I wasn’t a huge fan of the fried calamari because of the prominent fishy taste, but many fish lovers would like it. The pizzas were also a bit bland and missed flavors.
The garlic knots were my favorite part of dinner! They were nice enough to send me home with a basket!

Inside too dark need to brighten up
My friend and I had hiked 6 miles from the Alpine Boat Dock in 40° wind and light rain. We were cold, tired, and starving. We even extended our hike specifically to come here, walking all the way up from the Englewood Marina. I ordered the pizza on the way up so it would be ready when we arrived. By the time we got to the register, I was literally salivating.
All I asked was, “Can I eat one slice inside before heading out?” That’s it. Not a table, not a whole dine-in setup. Just one warm slice for maybe 90 seconds before walking back into the cold with the rest of the pizza.
The cashier responded with “why?”
I explained.
He asked “why?” again.
Then he gave me this passive-aggressive, “That’s fine, just eat it. It shouldn’t be a problem.”
The place was almost completely empty — 30–40 open tables, a bar, one customer in the entire restaurant. For some reason, me eating one slice of the pizza I just paid $38 for was treated like I was asking for something outrageous. Instead of offering me a plate, or even just a normal tone, I got interrogated. So after that, I didn’t feel welcome eating inside at all and ended up eating the entire pizza outside in the cold wind.
I grew up working in my family’s restaurant. I’ve been a cashier, a waiter, a dishwasher, delivery — the whole thing. I would never ask a customer to explain why they want to eat the food they purchased. If someone wants to eat a quick bite before heading out, you just let them. Zero friction. That’s basic hospitality.
This restaurant is right next to one of the most popular hiking entrances in the area. Hungry hikers showing up cold and exhausted shouldn’t be a surprise. If there’s some unwritten rule against joggers or hikers eating a slice inside, at least put up a sign so people know.
The pizza was legitimately great. But the attitude? Not so much. This could’ve been an easy five-star stop. Just let me eat one warm slice inside before making me go back out into the rain. Instead, I ate four slices outside: three lukewarm, one bitterly cold. Thanks for that.
I’ll come back at some point to revise my review, and hope the experience is better, because the food deserves better service than what I got.
(I came in the evening of 11/16/25)
