Ordered two pizzas and garlic cheese sticks. Bread sticks were done when we arrived to pick up and getting cold. Also did not receive marinara with bread sticks as the menu states. Deluxe pizza was ordered with no mushrooms or olives. When it came out, employee picked SOME of the remaining olives that he missed before cooking. (See pics) Offered to remake it but I refused as the bread sticks were already cold. Second pizza finished approximately 5 minutes later. Got back to the hotel (5 minute drive) to pick the remaining olives off and eat cold food (bread sticks were over cooked as well) that tasted like olives. No attention to detail by staff and no effort to do it right!

Very nice little place! Great Italian food and pizza. Great customer service, and it appears they may be expanding??? Hidden gem right here in Gilmer.

Omggg. I’m almost mad at myself for ordering from here because I live almost 4 hours away I love pasta and when i was heading back to our travel trailer this afternoon I just wanted some fettuccine Alfredo but didn’t want to go all the way to Longview so I just Googled to see if there were any local Italian places but honestly didn’t expect there to be. But I found this place and ordered and got a bit more skeptical bc it was ready quickly and only was $13. So I brought it home and set it on the table and almost an hour later got a chance to sit down and eat and after 1 bite I HAD to go find my phone to leave a review before I forgot. So tomorrow if some crazy lady comes in and orders like five orders of fettuccine alfredo to go don’t mind me im just stocking up for when I’m back in setx and the best Italian option is olive garden

This place was a pleasant surprise. Keep in mind that great food that is cooked to order takes time.
The stuffed pizza is Amazing!!! The only issue we had was they forgot the Jalapeño’s while putting the pizza together, which was quickly remedied by putting them on the side. My only other recommendation is to upgrade the plate to a higher quality paper or to a glass plate. I cut through mine.
I will definitely be back. It tasted amazing!!!

We brought our family here. Food came out piping hot. Fried calamari tasted fresh (not frozen) however, the portion was a bit small, fresh garden salad, and delicious pizza. Marinara and ranch were homemade. I suspect they may also make other salad dressings from scratch, too. This is the closest thing to NYC pizza in the area. Ambiance reminds me of going to a pizzeria as a kid, but updated decor. Some of the other reviews mentioned slow service, but we did not experience that. Under new ownership. 5 stars! We will be back!

Music was way too loud. Showed up about 3:30 on a Friday. Someone came and took our drink order immediately and after that we sat and waited. And waited, and waited some more. I finally just burst out “where the heck is our waiter?!” After that a young woman showed up to ask if we needed any help. I was afraid but asked for straws and Splenda for our tea. Came back took our order no problems. More waiting which I understand if I am getting delicious food. This was not that. I ordered meatballs parmigiana. They were warm at best and the pasta was very overcooked. Bread came out 6-7 minutes later.also cold. Now I will say this. Our special needs grandson ordered a cheese pizza and when it came he was all upset because there was not “circles” on it. Figured out it was pepperoni and they brought him some out in a bowl. But after that it was a ghost town . People lined up at the register and the kid making pizza never stuck his head in the back to let anyone know, he just let them stand there. So I called the restaurant from my table and he went back to the back then. When they made it up front to answer the phone , I hung up and let the folks lined up at the register get taken care of.
RECAP. Food is subpar, service was terrible and it looked like it was being run by a bunch of teenagers. We will not be back.

This has got to be the best Pizza joint in East Texas! The pies are hand-tossed right in front of you. The toppings are fresh and good quality. The service is good even if they’re a bit young. But they are friendly and usually on top of everything even if they’re a bit busy. And not that it should matter but the price is affordable! A family of four can eat for less than anything you’d get at a Drive-thru.
Our favorite is the Deluxe pizza. It comes with everything but the kitchen sink and it will serve 4 adults or me and my wife. The stromboli’s and calzones are amazing! Definitely more than one person can eat in a sitting. The salads are enormous and not just a bowl of chopped lettuce. Generous portions of toppings included! I try to politely ask them to add a Greek Salad to the menu someday. Their Italian salad is not far off. Just missing Kalamata Olives and Feta cheese, really. The Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake is amazing! I think it was supposed to be a limited time only, but it hasn’t gone away yet. Only problem lately is I forget to leave room for dessert.
My wife and I will keep coming back to this little pizza shop and I can’t speak praises high enough about them. You should give them a try if you’ve not been here yet.

After several interactions, I can say that I’ve never had good service at Giovanni’s. On multiple occasions, I’ve called in to go orders and have been given a specific time frame for when the food will be ready. Tonight, I placed an order for 2 pasta dishes and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I waited the 15 minutes and then showed up to pick up my order. After waiting an additional 45 minutes I finally got my food. Then I was told I had a few more minutes to wait for the bread that went with the meal. Previously, I placed an order for 1 large pizza. I was told the pizza would be ready in 30 minutes. I waited the 30 minutes and then showed up to get my food. I then waited an hour longer in the restaurant before the pizza was ready. The restaurant was not overly busy either time. It’s disappointing that this place is still open and Durans closed for lack of business. The food is okay but it is not spectacular. I always try to eat at the locally owned restaurants but it’s safe to say this one will no longer be on my list.
