Classic Comfort, Montrose Style
Gio’s has that lived-in charm – the kind of place that feels like it’s always been there, even if you’ve only just discovered it.
There’s a quiet nostalgia in the air. It’s not trying to be trendy – it just is what it is. And that’s the magic.
The cappuccino was spot on – rich, smooth, and made with care. You really can’t beat a good cappuccino on a cool Montrose morning.
Unrushed. Familiar. Like a neighborhood should.

This seems like a nice spot for pastries, though it seems a bit understaffed. The poor guy behind the counter was making drinks, getting pastries, and taking orders all himself. We got the pear-almond tarte and a creme brulee. They were both alright, but the tart wasn’t as crispy as it could be. It was also quite expensive. It’s definitely worth another try.

Love this place. The eclairs are really great. It’s a really nice shoe pastry, flakey but never soggy. The creme patisserie is very nice. A hint of citrus zest in the custard makes it excellent. Of course there are lots of other tasty treats made fresh and are available. I’m pretty sure there is something here for everyone.
I have to say that the staff are super friendly and professional. Every time we come in the staff are pleasantly chatting with the customers. Not in a obnoxious way but very friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like a regular your first time.
It’s a great addition to the neighborhood.
The coffee is also good. A nice patio outside and seating inside as well.

Very unique tasting pastries here… the hazelnut cream croissant (not sure if I got the name right) is my favorite, but honestly everything is delicious! I think its the bread they use for all the pastries its different and soOoOoOOo good! Lol

Very kind staff. Helpful, and patient with customers that do not know their pastries. Grabbed two apple turnovers and a chocolate croissant for about $13. Small and quaint shop. Just off the main walkway in Montrose, north west corner of ocean view and Honolulu. Street parking out front and some adjacent lots. Pastries were fresh and tasty. Small outdoor area with a few tables out front. And a handful of tables inside!

We placed a large sandwich order from Gio’s at the recommendation of family who live nearby (and have coffee almost daily at Gio’s!). Everyone in our group was impressed with the sandwiches from the quality of the bread to the flavor combinations. We also appreciated the wide range of options, and the ease of ordering over the phone. We plan to make Gio’s our go-to stop on all future visits to the area!

If you have traveled & know a really good latte when you sip one, this is where to come. No passport required. Perfect creamy, velvety foam, just the right temp (order it “warm” not hot which scorches the milk) to sip with any one or three of their delectable baked creations. The staff is charming & welcoming. Support local small business ❤️

Amazing little bakery and cafe in Montrose. The croissant and the baggett sandwiches we both amazing. Quality coffee and really delicious pastries are key to why this place is a success. I had the raspberry tart and it was better than any I have had in the Burbank/Glendale area.
