This restaurant is located inside a corner liquor store. Place your order at the counter to go or the staff will bring your food to the quaint dining room tables. Or, call ahead with your order and pick it up for convenience.
The staff is very friendly, the food is prepared quickly, and served hot.
I can’t overstate how delicious the food is. The standard pizzas, sandwiches, and entrees are available. All of the choices are very good.
There is adequate parking available in the small lot or on the street to accommodate the small dining room. The dining room can get very crowded and is available on a first come first served.
Was looking for Italian near Solvang and came across this spot that’s hidden inside a liquor store.
They don’t take reservations and service can be a little slow because there’s one waiter/cashier/host but all is forgiven because she was super friendly and it’s such a unique concept.
You pay at the counter and can buy a bottle of wine for a corkage fee.
Food wise, felt like everything was delicious and homey.
The risotto was probably my favorite entree. Cream and heavy umami notes with the mushrooms. Subbed chicken for shrimp which I think would be even better.
Carbonara might’ve been my least fave. Still good but lacked a bit of richness and creaminess that I expect and also came with peas which threw me off.
The tortellini with braised short ribs was fantastic. Their red sauce is excellent.
Pizza was ok, I think the middle of ours didn’t hold up to the toppings but I might try another one if I’m in the mood.
The surprise was the cheesy garlic bread. Probably some of the best I’ve ever had. Divine. Must order.
Would love to gatekeep this one but it’s too good to keep it a secret.
The best part of the meal was the outer crust of the pizza.
The Caesar salad we had was wilted, looked a little past its prime.
The pizza, although of high quality ingredients, great sausage, was undercooked in the middle, the crust there was floppy and tasted a bit like undercooked dough.
The dining area is impressive, dark, serve yourself plates and utensils, and nobody ever checked to see if everything was okay, or if we needed anything.
We won’t be back. Sorry.
