I’ll start with the positive: I ordered a house salad (asked for everything on the side, which I’d recommend since they use a lot of dressing), and it was very tasty—the greens were super fresh, and it came with warm bread, which was a nice touch.

I also tried their famous deep-dish pizza for the first time. To my surprise, it was delicious! The signature feature is definitely the cheese—there’s a lot of it. Mine was topped with sausage and mushrooms, though I wish there had been more sausage, since there was barely one piece per slice. The overall flavor was rich and satisfying, but definitely heavy on the cheese.
The restaurant itself is fairly small, and we had to wait to be seated. Tables weren’t the cleanest—ours had spilled water, and when we asked for napkins, the first server never came back. Eventually, our server cleaned it, but unfortunately with what looked like the same wet rag used across all the tables, which left ours sticky. Maybe that’s part of the “charm,” but it did take away from the experience.

One thing to keep in mind: the deep-dish pizza takes a long time to bake (around 40–50 minutes), so it’s not a quick bite. Plan ahead if you’re hungry.

The location, though, is great—right in the central area, close to hotels and attractions, so it’s easy to fit into your Chicago visit.

Amazing atmosphere, beautiful establishment and worth it. I was sat immediately in a booth at my request, which was very cool. The staff was really nice and attentive. Even though it was just me making sure my soda was constantly refilled without me asking and suggested a small meal like I wanted just to try out Chicago’s deep dish Pizza.
The food was great from the salad to the personal Pizza flavorful. It was a bit pricey, but because it was a deep dish Pizza I’m assuming that’s why it was so pricey, but atmosphere was great and food delicious and since I was in Chicago I had do try it.

Loved Giordano’s deep-dish pizza in Chicago! The deep dish pie was epic with that tangy sauce, perfect portions for sharing, and friendly service despite the wait. A must-try Chicago classic on my trip.

It’s a good atmosphere with nice staff. It was a bit pricey for a small deep dish pizza (enough for 2 people). Overall it’s a good experience since it’s a Chicago deep dish but I wouldn’t have it twice. It’s a little overwhelming type of food.
Cheese pull was crazy! Also I really liked the sauce and the fact that you could make your own pizza.

I had heard so much about this restaurant from several people. It was number 1 on my list during our visit to Chicago. I really wanted to try deep dish pizza. The whole experience was very underwhelming. The restaurant was beyond chaotic. The food was mid at best, and that’s being kind. We ordered a small pepperoni deep dish pizza. I couldn’t taste pepperoni at all. We also ordered chicken Alfredo which had maybe 2 ounces of chicken and a few pieces of broccoli. The Parmesan fries and salad were good. I wouldn’t waste my time or money here. I would look for something more authentic and not a chain next time.

Pacify that deep dish craving! We came to Chicago for the marathon and all we could think about was the Pizza. Maybe you’ve had this problem . But the stuff crust deep dish pizza at Giordano’s over delivered. So much cheese so much flavor!

Make sure to get the sausage.

The best part was they had a lunch special for $10.99 where you can get your own personal pizza, and the Parmesan garlic fries were fantastic.

Absolutely love this pizza! The deep dish was incredible—crispy crust, rich flavors, and perfectly cooked. We ordered half cheese and half special, and everyone at the table enjoyed it. Just a heads-up: it takes about 45 minutes for the deep dish to bake, but it’s totally worth the wait. Great food and a great overall experience. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, delicious deep-dish pizza!

We visited Giordano’s on S Michigan Avenue for an early dinner ahead of a concert at Soldier Field. We arrived around 5pm, which turned out to be a smart move as we were seated quickly, but not long after, a large queue formed outside with plenty of others looking for an early dinner too.

Once seated, we gave our drinks order to the server, and they arrived promptly. We then went on to plan our food order. The server explained that the famous deep dish pizzas would take around 45 minutes, but after seeing the size of them, we decided to go for a thin crust pizza instead. We chose a half-and-half topping option, along with a starter of mozzarella triangles.

After a short wait, our starter arrived and it was really nice, perfectly crispy and full of flavour. Not long after we had finished, our pizza was brought to the table and it was delicious, with a lovely base and plenty of topping.

The team were generally helpful and friendly, though it was clear they were very rushed with how busy it was, aside from a couple of team members standing at the back for quite a while. It did take us a bit longer than expected to request and receive our check, but given how packed the place was, it was understandable.

Overall, it was an ok first experience at Giordano’s, and we’d possibly return another time, maybe when it’s a little quieter.
