Tried Giordano’s and had a mixed experience. The Italian beef arancini was crispy and flavorful, especially with the au jus. The fettuccine Alfredo looked good but tasted average, and the chicken had a frozen texture.
The stuffed deep dish was good and had a flaky crust, but it did not really stand out. Worth trying once, but not a must-have for us.

Since we live in Nebraska, we aren’t able to go to Chicago to get our favorite deep dish pizza very often. So we were so excited when we saw we would be traveling through Iowa on our Thanksgiving holiday and that it would work perfect to stop here for lunch on our way back home. We wanted to love this place but it was just mediocre. We got the appetizer plate and you could tell that most if not all of it was from frozen and not freshly prepared. The deep dish pizza was very skimpy on toppings and was not worth the time to wait for it or the money we paid for it.

My server Haze was absolutely amazing, easy to talk to, very polite and was quick with everything we asked for!! I highly recommend Haze and Giordano’s to everybody, by far the best pizza around and with great service from people like Haze it’s a no brainer!!! So delicious nothing was left. Wow!! We are thrilled to have a local option to get our Chicago style deep dish fix! Great service and casual atmosphere. The waitress warned us right away when we sat down that the deep dish takes 45 minutes to make, which we were of course fine with. The pizza had fresh ingredients and had ample toppings. We will be back soon!

Outstanding. Here visiting from Oregon and was so excited to see Des Moines of all places having Chicago deep dish. My wife and I stopped in for dinner late on a Sunday night and had an awesome experience. The service was top notch. The pizza was exceptional. This was all on our wedding anniversary of all times and while here visiting family having some health issues, so it was really just what we needed. Jack and Emily were so sweet and attentive too. We even got some frozen deep dish pizzas to take back to Iowa falls for family to enjoy.

We came in after a full day of Christmas shopping. The restaurant was slowing down after a very cold night. We grabbed some pizzas to take out but decided to have an appetizer and a couple drinks while they cooked.
Our server/bartender was Ben. Cannot express how great and attentive and funny he was. Truly made for a memorable experience. Ben takes a great place with great food and somehow made it more enjoyable.
The food? Cmon. You already know. It’s amazing and worth your time every single time.

We tried Giordano’s for the first time and we will absolutely be back! We got the Chicago classic and it was delicious! The crust tastes as a pie crust and we couldn’t recommend it more!

Worst experience ever! I came in to get take out pizza. They were having a very awkward staff meeting in the restaurant airing grievances. They then told me one of my pizzas had an issue so they were going to remake and the pics are what they sent me home with! BURNT! And when I called the customer service was not good! I got told I don’t understand what a Tavern styIe pizza is! I grew up in Chicago where it was invented! I got a refund but will never go again! The staff meeting alone was a reason to not go again!

Not good. Didn’t have the types of liquor we were asking for which was not anything big deal. Got a gluten free pizza, wow, terrible crust. Also got a personal sausage pizza, hardly any sausage. Our friends got Alfredo lasagna which was nothing more than regular lasagna with some Alfredo sauce on top which then made it look like soup. Very unimpressed. This was our first time here, our friends’second time and they said the first time was bad too for them but thought they would give them a second chance. Nope, I am good, too may other places that have great food!! Be better!!!
