Ordering Chicago-style deep dish for takeout is usually a gamble—will it be a soggy mess by the time I get home? Not with Giordano’s.
Timing: They were spot-on with the pickup estimate. Deep dish takes 45+ minutes to bake, and they timed it perfectly so it was just coming out of the oven when I arrived.
The Handoff: The staff was friendly and efficient. They actually opened the box to show me the pie before closing it up—a small touch that guarantees order accuracy.
Packaging: These pies are heavy (literally pounds of cheese and dough), and the boxes are reinforced to handle it. Everything stayed hot and intact on the drive home.
The Pizza (The “Stuffed” Experience):
If you know, you know—Giordano’s isn’t just deep dish; it’s stuffed deep dish. That second top layer of dough makes all the difference.
The Crust: It eats more like a flaky, buttery pie crust than a standard chewy pizza dough. It held up perfectly against the toppings without getting soggy.
The Cheese Pull: Legendary. The Wisconsin mozzarella layer is generous and has that perfect, elastic snap. It stayed melty even after the travel time.
The Sauce: This is the crown jewel. It’s chunky, bright, and leans slightly sweet-tart, which cuts right through the richness of the cheese and meat.

Really disappointed. I ordered for delivery 2 hours ago, received my food cold, pizza and wings turned upside down. Asked why their drivers don’t have sealed bags for the food and they proceed to tell me that they use door dashers for delivery. Unacceptable. I spoke to Kary the manager and apparently I need to take the food back for a refund or credit. I order from here all the time, and recently their service has gone down hill. You all have lost a loyal customer

Schererville IN- Ordered extra cheese and half ground beef , received equivalent to dried cardboard and burnt Italian sausage chunks on top. When I called the manager had me text him a picture to which he responded that’s how it’s supposed to look. It’s supposed to not have any sauce or cheese and supposed to be burnt (never mind it had the wrong meat) mistakes happen, but the customer service was offensive !

We went to the Giordano’s in Schererville, Indiana today. We were seated in a booth. After we were seated, 3 tables of people came in and were seated. They were greeted, ordered and had their drinks. We were seated for about 15 minutes and no one had ever approached our table. We finally got up, I picked up the menus and walked to the front, handed them to the same gal that seated us and said we’ve been here 15 minutes and no one has even come to our table to take our order let alone ask what we wanted to drink. The manager was standing with her, just looked at me and didn’t say a word.

If you are looking for a delicious pizza spot that’s good for casual, business, dates, etc. this is it. The food is great, service it great and the atmosphere is great.
Ordered the Meat, Meat & More Meat Deep Dish Pizza and it was delicious! We also ordered the sampler appetizer and it was good as well.
Went back and ordered the BBQ Chicken Deep Dish… Was delicious! Hit it out of the park again

Came in from out of town for a deep dish pizza. Pizza was not what we ordered and how we ordered. Was not impressed by the service at all I personally only had 1 dr.pepper that was never refilled while my partner had her wine filled.

The stuffed pizza and Parmesan fries were very good as usual . The Michigan Avenue margarita was lacking, no salt on the rim and it tastes like a cheap store bought premix, I do not recommend.
They were super busy but we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was excellent and the managers were very attentive.

UPDATE: I decided to try a deep dish at this location instead of the tavern style I ordered last time, and the pizza was excellent. There was a mix up with the order timing at pickup, but the staff realized the issue and had the correct order out shortly after. I appreciated that they handled it calmly and professionally. The pizza was exactly what I was hoping for and I plan to return again.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: I’m new to Schererville and was really looking forward to my first Giordano’s pizza in a decade after moving back to the Chicagoland area. This was actually my first meal after moving back. I ordered a 16” tavern-style with chicken (ordered carry-out on 10/8/2025) but upon arriving back home was disappointed by how sparse the toppings were. There was shockingly little chicken, and the pizza had so little cheese and sauce that it was very dry and mostly crust.
Giordano’s has been a favorite of mine for years, so I was hoping for a better first experience at this location. I’m sharing this as constructive feedback in hopes the kitchen pays closer attention to topping balance going forward.

Stopped by the day before I returned back to texas, and it was so good! It’s probably the best bruschetta I have ever had,and the pizza was delicious! I would recommend heading out an hour before you actually want to eat since it takes 45 mins to make your deep dish pizza. Our server was very attentive as well!

If you are planning on ordering via delivery please keep in my mind that they 3rd party their drivers via gig work like DoorDash. Not saying TIPS are mandatory, but if there is no credit tip or if you decide to tip in cash your order can take over 1-2hr to arrive or not at all. It’s only because the way the DoorDash system works. All drivers are only paid 2$ per order regardless of distance and if you live 5-20 miles from the store & that $2 payout shows on the drivers screen they will not take that order solely because they can lose money in gas. DD does not show advanced weather if you tipped or not, but drivers can tell by the payout starting at $2. Most Drivers will only accept an order if the payout is equal to or more than the miles driven Regardless of tip. Every time a driver declines, the payout only goes up by “$0.25” so if you’re a far distance 50 to 100+ drivers may have declined your order. Causing it to take longer than what Giordanos has promised…
I have delivered a handful of orders from this store for the past 2-3yrs now and this has always been a problem. I have had customers cancel as soon as the order assigned to me because they have already been waiting over 1hr. I even faced taunts and threats from customers just because of the wait that is out of my control. Even the manger and the front desk get angry with the drivers because it took so long. It’s not our fault! This is how DoorDash rips off the customers, stores and their own drivers. Creating chaos
I’m not sure if the owner understands this issue or they just don’t care. Several times i have picked up an order here they have given me a 1 star rating whenever the customer is mad over wait time.
