Phenomenal meal with family! Julia was the most incredible server who made us feel special and ensured our glasses were never empty. The food was wonderful paired with two different wines, and we were pleasantly surprised by how tasty the blood orange olive oil cake was for dessert. I had driven by this place so many times and thought it was just an olive oil store, but it is so much more. We’ll definitely be back for more family meals! And we will be asking for Julia to hang out with us every time.

What a great place and the food is amazing. The people are amazing. Had the privilege to meet the owner that was working making baskets and she was so down to earth and just a wonderful person the blistering olives and the hummus will blow your mind. I decorated gingerbread cookies there and they were amazing to work with and they had all the supplies to do them with. They also make a great old-fashioned if you’re interested a smoked old-fashioned it’s just a great place and very clean atmosphere. The food is by far the best had lunch and also had the event there that we attended.

Wine is totally overpriced and served at the wrong temperature. Waiter is not trained and can not explain the very limited menu. We had local prawns as a starter. Very uninspiring dish with very little flavour except for the salt. Main dish chicken was cooked OK but again no flavour except for to much salt. And same for pork loin. The ambiance is nothing special. The specialty shop is proposing lots of different infused olive oil. However no indication of the origin and if it is Virgin olive oil at all. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy .

My boyfriend and I were visiting St Simons Island for the very first time, and we happened to drive by GIOO after eating at a restaurant nearby. GIOO looked so inviting and just the place we needed to be, even if it was just for a drink! So, we parked there and sat outside with our two dogs. We were warmly greeted by our server, Dre, and he made us feel so at home and welcome. Not only did he bring out two water bowls for our dogs, but also a “Canine Cuisine” menu for them! It was the most precious thing I’ve seen. Both my boyfriend and I ordered an espresso martini (with tequila – highly recommend), and they tasted like PERFECTION. We even came back the next day for another!! After the martini, we asked our server what his favorite beer on the menu was, and he responded with the 1609 Lager. So, we both ordered one of those and it did not disappoint. It was light, refreshing, and a great recommendation! I wish we could take GIOO back home to Florida with us, we would definitely become regulars! Huge thank you to Dre for a great first experience there!!

An excellent choice for foodies, this bistro like restaurant also offer one of the best selections of flavored basalmic vinegar and spice mixes I have ever seen on the west or east coasts, in an attached little store. We had salads that were expertly prepared, and a seasoned, cheese topped baguette bread that was so good, we ordered a loaf to bring home. Highly recommended!
