Literally one of the underrated Japanese restaurants out there and definitely deserves more attention. Food was amazing, and the service was very fast. The crunchy roll and yam tempura I ordered got to our table in less than 10mins. Of course it depends on what you order as some will take longer than that.

Overall food quality is amazing. Food was absolutely delicious!

As for the atmosphere it is not too loud nor too quiet. So having a conversation was easy. This restaurant deserves a 10/10 overall for me and would highly recommend! Will definitely come back in the future

First time trying Gintaro today. I placed a to go order. The staff was kind, the place was cozy and welcoming.
I ordered the spicy salmon combo and the deep fried pork gyoza.
The gyoza was crispy and flavorful!
The salmon was fresh and good quality. Both the maki and sashimi had the perfect amount of sauce.
Absolutely delicious, so excited to return and try more items!

Location was nice, and hidden from busy streets.

Interior/Ambiance (4/5)

Service was reasonable. (5/5)

We ordered Sushi Sahimi combo (4/5)

Gintaro Sushi (4/5)

Grilled Squid (3/5) just bit lacking of flavor.

Wasabi (3/5) wishing it was more spicier.

Overall its a nice place.

This is a underrated hidden gem of the Northside. Sashimi was fantastic as-well as the Miso soup. Would definitely recommend the lunch bento that is available from 11:30-3:30pm.
Only critique is the sushi is smaller than expected (bite size) but tasted good.

Best Sushi ever. Visiting from Florida. Looked for places to eat. Will come back again when visiting family. We got a lot to get leftovers.

Absolutely amazing Japanese restaurant!
The food was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. Every dish was full of flavor, especially the sushi and sashimi — you can really tell they use high-quality ingredients.

The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and authentic.
This is hands down one of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to.
Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Amazing food and friendly service! They have a variety of special rolls and appetizers that you will not find in other Japanese restaurants. I recommend the rock n roll and grilled squid. Each roll is around $15-19 and the quality is amazing.

The sashimi all tasted fresh and the presentation of each dish was phenomena. I will be coming back to try some more rolls and appetizers 🙂

It’s ok. 2.5⭐️

The rolls were akin to grocery store level. Flavors were good on half of the rolls that weren’t tuna. The tuna was not quite fresh and had a slight metallic after taste so we stopped eating anything with tuna.

Beef with udon noodles had an interesting taste. For someone that can easily eat Japanese food daily, I’ve never tasted anything quite like this beef yaki-udon…not bad but not great.

I can’t recommend Gintaro based on this experience. I’ll certainly try again and I’ll update this review.
