Went on a Saturday night, no wait. Restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. Staff was polite and the place had an overall very comfortable vibe. Had deep dish pizza which wasn’t overly saucy. There is also a nice bar for those interested.

Good food and service. Gave my son a chocolate cake for graduating from the Navy! Great touch. Thank you for a special night.

The food is very much old school and handed down from generations. Fair price. Delicious, not much on presentation, but too busy enjoying the flavors to care. Great lunch spot. Can’t wait to try the pizza!!! They’re sauce is old world. I enjoyed it.

The hostess/server had us wait for seating, took our name down for no reason, when there was many seats/booths available. Then the manager sat us down and took our order. The server took long to get our food, and did not stop by to get refills. Her attitude was insincere and was unapologetic about the long wait times(the place was not busy during visit). The deep dish pizza was good but thinner than their other locations. Poor service, good pizza.

What a comedown during our latest visit. The pizza is still among the best, but ours came out almost cold after a normal ~30min. wait. We arrived to a packed house, due to large unexpected parties added to a separate private party in the east room. We waited in the lobby after asking to order our pizza to minimize the eventual wait, since we were quoted a “15 min or so” wait. I had to order at the take out area, where I ordered a Meaty Legend with patty sausage instead of the crumbled. We noticed several booths open at the time, so maybe they were short staffed, as it apparently takes a lot of effort to bring drinks and finally a pizza with plates. We finally were seated in the main room where we noted 2 additional empty booths, which were filled soon after. Service after that was fine, though the pizza must have sat for a while to be cooled as much as it was. It came loaded with BOTH the crumbled and patty sausage, plus the up charge. To top things off, they refused to honor a “Never Expires” Groupon we had kept on hand for a couple of years. So, about $33+ tax for a 12 inch pizza, an iced tea and one beer. Time to start going to Lou’s

When i was first greeted, they said there was a 20 minute wait because they only had one waitress! (This is lunch time about 1). Waited about 15 min and gave server pizza order right away. She came back in about 10 minutes to get our appetizers order of roasted brussel sprouts. That took 30 minutes. Told us our pizza would come out soon. She brought 2 pizzas out to our table, but they weren’t ours. About an hour or so after we ordered pizzas, we got our order, which was barely hot. Our food had to have been sitting somewhere for awhile. Service was marginal, and we realize that they were short, but there seemed to be a lot of people working there. Perhaps cross training employees for such emergencies would help. Manager should have been taking orders. Overall a disappointing lunch.

This historically would have been 5 stars. Been going to Gino’s east for years. Always loved the crispy buttery crust, generous cheese, and chunky sauce on top. Last visit was not the best. Crust did not hold-up and was a bit soggy and cheese kind of ran away. Maybe it was served too early. Flavor was still pretty good. Service was good too. I’ll be back.

“You got to have a pizza from Ginos” is what people from Chicago would tell me when I told them I was heading to Illinois. So I ordered a half baked sausage patty supreme deep dish at the young ladies recommendation because I wanted the Chicago pizza experience. When I got it home I was excited I put in the oven for 55 minutes like it said on the box, when it was done it stand for a few minutes, I then cut out a slice and bit into it, I was oh so disappointed. The people were nice but the pizza was good at all, needless to say that was $26 down the drain.
