Formerly known as Spice of Life, we are Hendersonville’s hometown tea house and tea bar! We have a large variety of organic, farm direct loose leaf teas and tisanes on our retail side. We also brew and serve tea to enjoy in our tea house as well as to go. Our passion is gong fu cha which is Chinese tea service. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

We tried a flight of three teas, all were delicious! The gentlemen working in the shop (Jeff is the owner) were incredibly knowledgeable, kind and personable. It was a cozy activity on a beautiful winter day. We’ll definitely be back, highly recommend if you’re in the Asheville/Hendersonville area.

Enter this shop and be transported to another realm. There is something here for the layman and the tea culture warrior alike. At the bar I enjoyed a “dealer’s choice” gong fu sesh which happened to be a spicy and complex raw pu er much to my taste. It was deeply relaxing to sit and sip innumerable tiny tea cups full while allowing myself to unwind without a care. I also picked up a NC-handmade gaiwan and a cake of pu er curated by a local importer. Gorgeous space and kind people.

Stopped here on a whim while walking downtown and ended up staying quite a while due to the great conversation, vibes and of course tea! My husband and I are casual tea drinkers and walked in mostly to warm up on a cold day but this place ended up exceeding our expectations by a mile. We sat at the bar and decided to try the “dealers choice” which is a continuous pouring of whatever the bar(tea?)tender is having that day. The teas we were served were mild and approachable but tasty. We were thoroughly entertained by the owner’s elaborate preparation process and learned a lot about tea roasting and methods. Both of the tenders were such knowledgeable, friendly people that we felt it was much more than a cup of tea, more like an experience. We ended up leaving with multiple nice organic teas to try based on their recommendations. We’re so glad we stopped and will be back!

My wife and I visited Hendersonville this week as part of our honeymoon trip. We happened across this little tea bar, and decided to stop in. The atmosphere is a vibe, and the two gentlemen inside were awesome! Not only did they welcome us in with great hospitality, but they entertained our 1 year old daughter in the process! The tea was fantastic, and the tea ceremony they offer sounded really chill. We both got a cup of tea, snagged a few ounces of our favorites, and thoroughly enjoyed conversation with the two fellas (I’m sorry I didn’t get yalls names, nor properly introduce ourselves!). I recommend anyone stopping by while in the area, or local to the area. Hopefully, one day they’re able to expand to Myrtle beach so we can enjoy them here! Thank yall for the chill vibe, awesome conversation, and making our little girl feel just as welcome in yalls stellar establishment! -The Stocks Family

While walking down main street, I happened upon Ginkgo. I was drawn in by the engery it radiated. I was immediately greeted with kindness and great conversation. I met my sister at the tea shop this past Saturday for a tea ceremony of sorts called Gung Fu Cha.
We had the most incredible time! The owner, Jeff, selected the most perfect tea for us. We sat at the counter for damn near 2 hours: drinking tea, laughing, making new memories, and building friendships with Jeff and Pete, both tea spirit guides who run the shop and create such an inviting atmosphere.
Would recommend this experience to everyone. I left with a higher vibration, sore cheeks from smiling and a bag full of delicious teas to make at home. Their selection is impressive.
Can’t wait to visit again.

This is, by far, my favorite establishment on Main Street. The tea service is an *experience*, atmosphere is always so serene and relaxing, and the gentlemen who work behind the counter are always so welcoming and friendly. I’ve traded my usual coffee spot for Ginkgo Tea Life when I’m in the area. A+++ – must visit!
