I ordered fried chicken with rice and beans. When I went to pick up my meal, I also asked for a side of gratine. I received three pieces of chicken and a small bowl of mac and cheese for $30. (I’ve attached some pictures to show what I got.)

Ginger Bites is an absolute treasure. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted not just with the comforting aroma of authentic Haitian cuisine, but with the warmth and kindness of the owner herself. She is such a sweet, devoted lady — you can feel the love she pours into every dish. Her passion for cooking is truly an art, and it shows in every bite.
The food? To die for. Perfectly seasoned, full of depth, and bursting with the rich, soulful flavors that make Haitian cuisine so special. Whether you’re trying a classic favorite or exploring something new, everything tastes homemade in the best possible way — comforting, vibrant, and unforgettable.
Ginger Bites isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience filled with heart, culture, and incredible food. Huntington is lucky to have such a gem. If you haven’t been yet, go — your tastebuds will thank you!

The owner was initially not nice. I’m not sure why she’s not automatically pleasant to her customers. She’s rude and abrasive. I truly don’t get it. I’d be happy if customers came into my restaurant. My husband and I wanted to try some Caribbean food while visiting family in NY and this was a convenient spot as it was about 5 mins from the home we were visiting. As we stepped in, no one was at the counter to greet us for what felt like 8 mins, give or take. Finally a lady came out and was walking out to hand curb side orders. She came back in and finally acknowledged us and said just a moment. She was busy. My husband sat down and she said if we’re not eating in he cannot have a seat bc she’ll have to disinfect the area he was in. But the way she said it was with annoyance. She assumed we weren’t going eat in. There’s a better way to speak to customers. So we placed our order and got some drinks. Food was ok. It could’ve been good if it wasn’t overly seasoned with sodium. The drinks were on point. Her customer service improved towards the end of our stay. She said she gave us larger portion than normal for the wait. I appreciate her acknowledgment but I wish this was our first interaction rather than the latter. Best wishes.

Yesterday I went to ginger bits with my family. I never had hatitian food before. I enjoy what I got. We all had different dish. We had the fish, chicken, oxtail, and goat. Everything was made to order and fresh. The owner was very sweet and nice. She explain what everything was. Me not a pork eater she told to stay away from the black rice I did. The drinks was good also. If am ever in the area again I would go back again. This place a must win. Love to support our people ❤️.

I ordered a turkey entree for a coworker, and he was absolutely over the moon about the taste. He said he loves the way the food was packaged as well and will bring his family to dine here in the future. I haven’t tried their food yet but I will very soon!

A Truly Delightful Dining Experience!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The owner was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor — you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The red snapper fish was a standout, perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The ambiance was just right for a relaxed evening out, with pleasant background music. It’s clear that this restaurant takes pride not only in its food but also in creating a memorable experience for its guests. We’ll be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a welcoming setting!

1. The person taking orders on the phone is not polite at all and that kind of attitude stinks.
2. Why 40$+ for food just to tell me that you don’t do sizes(Right because it’s easier getting away with the small portions for outrageous prices)
3. And I wasn’t impressed by the food at all.
Going to some of the reviews I felt validated because I seen how many people relates to me and clearly no efforts is being made to change these issues which is sickening.
Then the Haitian community will turn around and say that they don’t get support whole time it’s more about money then it is about serving people and be respectful to one another. Truly sad.
