My wife and I stopped at Gillians Irish Pub during our visit with friends in North Carolina, and we found it to be a truly delightful experience. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for dinner the following evening. This establishment in Dunn, NC, offers an authentic Irish pub, sports bar, and restaurant experience, complete with traditional cuisine, live entertainment, televised sports, and a comprehensive bar selection. Their menu features classic Irish dishes, drawing inspiration from the owner’s grandmother, Annie. Highlights include Guinness beef stew, broccoli soup, fish and chips, and a variety of burgers and sandwiches. On our initial visit, we sampled the chili, shepherd’s pie, and fish and chips. For our second dinner, we opted for wings and a beer. The pub’s atmosphere is notably cozy and casual, exuding a genuine Irish charm. It provides an ideal setting for socializing with friends and enjoying sports on their nine large flat-screen televisions. Gillians Irish Pub also hosts a diverse range of events, including live music, karaoke nights, and dance parties. Service was a bit slow to begin with but food was hot and delicious. I had the fish and chips and my husband had a salad with sliced steak (can’t remember the exact name of it). We sat a table near the kitchen but when we left around 7:30 the bar was packed. I look forward to visiting again soon.

Very wonderful atmosphere, the owner put a lot into the details of the decorum. Staff was very pleasant. I ordered the Shepard’s pie, it was good, could have used a wee but more of the beef filling, but it brought me back to my Grandmas kitchen. I highly recommend that folks give this place a try. It’s like stepping into a pub in Ireland, right here in Dunn.

Their KC Ribeye steak is the best steak we have had. It’s even better than the expensive steak houses that we have in the area. It’s dry aged for 28 days and it was tender and cooked to perfection! Their garlic spinach was also delicious and cooked perfectly. We also had the corned beef and cabbage and the portions were so generous I had the leftovers for dinner the next night. They have a great atmosphere and our waitress was very attentive to our every need. We’ll definitely be coming back here again.

A buddy and I met for lunch at Gillians last weekend. We had never been there before. The food was great and so were the owners who are from Ireland. Irish music was coming from the speakers and the authentic Irish pub vibe was very cool. I will be back again!

First impression, I love the place itself. My bartender was very nice. I came specifically for a *NEW* banana cheesecake dessert thing I saw online… well they didn’t have any. I ordered the pretzel for the appetizer, it was pretty gross. It tasted microwaved and they basically gave you yellow mustard to dip it in. Then I asked for the beer cheese, they didn’t have that. I ordered the Sheppard’s pie for dinner, it was absolutely great! It had great flavor and textures. Very nicely blended flavors. Then I got the hazelnut crunch square for dessert. It was very tasty and unique. Frozen. It was good and interesting. Their presentation is very weak, but overall not a bad place. I’ll return.

My husband and I went on date night here, we sat at the bar and were looking forward to having cocktails and appetizers. Cocktails were decent. We ordered a giant pretzel to start, and when it arrived I could immediately tell it was deep fried, which that isn’t the problem a deep fried pretzel can be delicious. You could very much tell it was fried in dirty oil. I am not sure if frying it is their go to but if it is you should fry it in very clean oil otherwise the bread picks up all the bad flavor. The bartender ignored us and wouldn’t make eye contact. When we finally got her attention, we asked for the bill and decided to go to a better place for dinner.

Our waitress was so sweet and made sure all our dining needs were met.
Nicely decorated with an Irish theme, incl music, which honestly gets a little tiring after a while, but I get it. The lock in the ladies’ bathroom was very unique!
My spouse had the broccoli cheese soup and house made chips that she enjoyed. I had the Guinness beef stew, which was filling and delicious. We both really liked the toast too. On a chilly day, our choices were perfect!
All and all a really good experience that would lead us back here again when in the area.
