Gilles Frozen Custard has been family owned and operated since 1949. Tom Gilles began serving frozen custard and Gillieburgers to the Fond du Lac community in June of 1949. His strong work ethic, uncompromising dedication to quality, cleanliness and emphasis on friendly service has proven to be the keys to Gilles’ success. Tom passed these practices down to his son, Jim who took over the business in 1992. The business continues to run much like it did in the 50’s. Carhops continue to serve patrons with a smile: and cooks prepare the highest quality burgers and sundaes quickly in the kitchen. Hard work and family values continue to fuel Gilles toady!!

This is simply the best custard. I’ve been coming here since the 1960’s. It’s always been a hot spot for teenagers in the summer, cruising the main drag and being seen. The Gille burger is a beef loose meat sandwhich, with its own very distinctive sauce and the hot beef sandwich is dependable good, they both are.

A friend recommended Gillies to us, we had never been there. We absolutely LOVE the old-time drive up diner feel. The staff is so nice and the food is absolutely delicious! And let’s not forget to talk about the prices. While everything else has seemed to sky rocket and become unaffordable, we are still able to afford Gillies generous prices and have a nice family outting and meal without breaking the bank. Gillies also has the most amazing ice cream! I will not willing eat ice cream anywhere else besides Gillies. If you have not tried it, we highly HIGHLY recommend that you do! This has become my family’s favorite place.

It was my first time at Gilles and will not be my last. I had a single cheese burger with everything on it and let me tell you it was amazing. I have never had relish on a burger but it complimented it perfectly. The fries were absolutely delicious and my turtle sundae was perfectly made. The girl who waited on us was nice and quick. Definitely recommend going there if you haven’t already!
