This was one of the worst bar experiences I’ve had.
It was our first time visiting. We had a salon appointment a couple blocks away and decided to stop in before our appointment. From the moment we walked in, the environment felt unwelcoming.
At 3:54 PM I asked about happy hour, which starts at 4 PM. The bartender, Tony, was already rude and said we should get the happy hour price but that he had no control over the register because it determines the discount. Since it was only a few minutes before 4 PM, we figured it would probably work out.
When we went to pay, we were charged full price. It wasn’t a huge issue—we paid and left for our appointment.
After our appointment we returned, now during happy hour, thinking we’d have a couple drinks and relax. Unfortunately, things got worse. Tony told another bartender that we had been giving them a hard time earlier, which was completely untrue. Because of that, the second bartender already seemed irritated with us.
When we ordered drinks, she became visibly frustrated when we considered trying something different and huffed at us as if we were being difficult.
We took our drinks outside and sat in empty seats next to a couple of people. They immediately got up and left, and one woman sarcastically said “you’re welcome” with obvious hostility. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary.
Then Tony came outside with security and made a scene in front of everyone. We were embarrassed and humiliated even though we had not caused any problems. The whole situation felt extremely unprofessional.
Management should seriously review the cameras and staff behavior because the way customers were treated that evening was unacceptable. What should have been a quick stop for drinks turned into a very unpleasant experience.
Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

Giligan’s is one of our favorite spots in Old Town Scottsdale. It’s a fun dive bar with tons of Christmas lights on the ceiling, great food at affordable prices, and awesome happy hour specials. The drink wheel is a fun touch and makes every visit a little different!

Found Giligin’s when I needed a spot to watch a baseball game before flying home. I’m a big Mariners fan, but outside of that, sports aren’t my thing, so I was hoping to find somewhere that didn’t feel too much like a “sports bar.” Couldn’t have found a better spot! Halloween decorations were on point, atmosphere was perfect, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Thank you for making us feel welcomed and well fed!

Amazing atmosphere, we love the lights on the inside and outside Of the bar. Great bartenders!! Pizzas are delicious but the happy hours you cant Beat! $3 beers!!!!

Dane is the best doorman ever. Cleaned our table like no other. Customer service at a high. Made sure my id wasn’t fake for good reason. Dane needs a raise. Bartenders friendly. Drinks good. Reasonable price. Good atmosphere. Laura’s a great bartender. Speedy service and really friendly. Laura also deserves a raise. Tony is also a good man. Tony, Laura, and Dane all deserve a raise.

Such a fun fun bar! The have a fun wheel you can spin for a small price for a mystery shot!!! It was so much fun spinning with my girls they have fun lights that light up while you spin! The bartenders are personable and very good service!! Loved it here will come again

5 of us walk in to have food and drinks for the first time and we were welcomed by the bartender Aaron like we were regulars and he knew us. Great food, cold beer and great happy hour prices the place reminds me of being back in a Wisconsin tavern. When we get back over to the Scottsdale area it will be are go to tavern. 5 stars all day.
