My husband and my child had the Chowder in Bread Bowl, they are so good that neither of them remembered to take pictures. It was amazing. I had the lobster dinner, it was decent. I loved their sweet corn, was amazing. The blueberry pie was great, very fresh and not too sweet. Solid place especially Chowders. I wish I had room trying other things.

We were looking to have some good chowder while in New England and we’re so glad we went for Gilbert’s. The food absolutely knocked it out of the park. The super seafood chowder was so full of seafood, a wonderful dish! And the lobster BLT was an absolute delight. I cannot recommend the cocktails enough either. Everything was excellent!

Nice little restaurant. Had the Clam Chowder, fried Whole Belly clams and Onion rings. Clam chowder was great with decent pieces of clam. Fried whole belly clams were good too, but not very crispy. Still tasted good. The onion rings were huge and pretty good, again, I prefer more crispy but was still pleased.

Wow, I was truly impressed. I have very high standards with food. The food was divine. If anyone is disagreeing on the chowder, they dont know either how to make it or what it should taste like. They deserve every award for their chowder. Chowder is SUPPOSE TO BE THICK. It’s a full Thick lady. If you are eating watery chowder, it is all wrong! Everyone was friendly and understanding. The atmosphere is very seaport captain house cute. I highly recommend. 10/10

Great little eatery right in the middle of town. The seafood chowder was great. The scallops were baked in butter and bread crumbs and were wonderful. The staff is suitably surly but helpful and the local feel is authentic.

Clam chowder bread bowl was fantastic!!! Lots of great soft clams, bread soft & wonderful, flavor great. Impeccably done. Friendly service, casual nice decor. Highly recommended!

Omg! The seafood chowder was amazing! Another reviewer said it was the best they ever had and have to agree. Lots of lobster and other seafood, not too thick and oh so tasty! The clam strips were yummy as well.

The chowder was amazing!! Everything else was just okay. Cole slaw was dry, fries didn’t taste fresh/ homemade. I would definitely go back and just get a bigger bowl of chowder and skip the sides. I got the clam chowder and my husband got the seafood. They both had a lot of meat inside!

We actually ate here twice during our stay. We were here during lunch. We had the fried oyster with fries and coleslaw for $25 and the serving was right for the price. We were expecting it to be a small serving so we were really surprise. We tried sa chowder sampler and we were glad we did. We were able to taste everything. We also did the lobster twin dinner and it was great. I didnt like the clam cake though but maybe I am just not a fan of it.
