In an area where the coffee shops are McDonald’s and 7-Elevens, Gigi’s Coffee Roaster is a breathe of fresh air. First opened inside and old liquor store on the United States of America’s 249th birthday, Gigi’s is one of the only independent coffee shops East of the River.

Park out front or along the street. It’s easy to find.

When I walked in on a Friday morning, the two baristas were very kind and warm. It’s clear they are proud of what they are building.

They have a full coffee menu, including a very creamy and tasty Pistachio Latte. They also have wrapped pastries that come at a discount if you order a latte.

Had an amazing experience. I was welcomed with love and got the best customer service. The food was fresh and loved my Matcha and Pistachio Ratio Latte. They were definitely made with love. Will be back again again. Thank you for your service in our neighborhood!!

An oasis I stop by before heading to work , Gigi’s.
From the pumpkin spice latte to the holiday gingerbread latte, and even their regular coffee, everything is consistently delicious.

Great new spot! The coffee is excellent, smooth, rich, and full of flavors and options to choose from. The shop has a cozy vibe, modern yet simple, perfect for chit chats or getting some work done. Definitely worth a visit!

A special, and unique spot. Was just passing by and stopped to get a cold coffee and knock out some work for DC HOSA Future Health Professionals.

The Cocohesion was a refreshing coconut water, coffee, and sweet microfoam. Learned that this space just recently opened in July in response to the community wanting a neighborhood coffee shop.

It’s not a spot to gather, but a quick pick up and go. Appreciated the Barista on staff today sharing their story. Picked up a bag to try, and will see how the roasted beans taste. Hoping to not see any glossy beans 🙂

Wishing this spot a fruitful future. Has good vibes and heart.

Yes!! Finally a coffee shop in our neighborhood… and it’s delicious!! I ordered a latte with honey and pumpkin cold foam. It’s smooth and delicious, and was ready in less than 5 minutes. The interior is clean and the staff is so friendly.

Its so nice to have a coffee shop within walking distance! Though I don’t drink coffee. I went for the tea and pastries.

Lavender Iced Tea.
I loved the personalized service. They added extra sugar to my tea to make sure it was sweet to my taste. The lavender iced tea was excellent.

Bagel and cream cheese.
Typical bagel and cream cheese. Nothing to rave about. They had some cakes and other pastries too though.

This is their soft launch and they’ve been open for less than a month. I personally hope to see an expanded non coffee section and additional pastries. If that happens I’ll make the walk over regularly.

Its so nice to see an independent coffee shop east of the river. I highly recommend and hope that they flourish!

This is a small coffee shop that is run by some very sweet / kind people! They roast their own beans (you can see the electric roaster inside!) and it’s some great coffee (I bought beans and brewed them at home!). We enjoyed a cold brew and lattes, as well as some pastries, and everyone was happy all around :-). The entrance is wheelchair accessible/there are no steps. A great coffee shop just a short walk from the Capitol View Library

Very welcoming atmosphere. Nikki was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. The gingerbread latte is a seasonal item and I must sayyyy… no disappointments over here. I’ll be back!
