Gigis cafe is a nice cozy atmosphere. The service is friendly and precise. I came here with my family of 4 we sat down and were immediately welcomed in. The drinks were fresh the food was outstanding. I know food especially breakfast food and the food is simply freaking amazing. Not to mention how cheap everything was. If you are looking for small town cooking and awesome service this will have you coming back over and over again.

Awesome home cooked food. Sit down and eat at a local place. Run by a Pastor! Started a week before covid. Still in business. Dont pass it up!

We stopped at Gigi’s for breakfast this morning on our way through town. The restaraunt is very clean and super cute. Service was excellent as was the food. The menu has a brief history of the town which was quite interesting. Ample parking out front. We stayed at the campground in town for a night and it was an easy walk to Gigi’s front door. Would definitely stop here again on our next trip through Kansas.

Went to the soft opening of the Cafe. We had the pancakes, bacon, french toast, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and coffee. Here’s how everything breaks down (unless you don’t want to read all of it then you can scroll to the bottom to get the short version).
The atmosphere here is very homey. Lots of great local memorabilia on the walls, a nice sitting area around a little fireplace, and the staff are super friendly. The different table size options are very good with mostly 4 person tables but a few bigger tables and a few smaller tables so it should accommodate about any size group.
The prices are extremely reasonable with our whole meal costing around $20. They also have some quick grab and go items that are cheap as well. $2 for a HUGE muffin or $3 for a scone are cheaper and better than what you’ll find at the local gas stations.
The main dishes were very good. The french toast was some of if not the best I’ve ever had. The bacon slices were thick cut and about a foot long. The eggs were cooked to order and were definitely real eggs. The biscuits and gravy were SO good. The gravy has a little bit of spice which sets it apart from all of the bland gravy out there. The coffee was good and strong without being bitter. The hash browns were good. I prefer mine crispy and these weren’t but the were still good. The real winner though are the pancakes. The pancakes are about 8-10 inches across and very fluffy. They were the perfect light brown while still being nice and chewy.
Short version: GO EAT HERE!
I have a feeling this is quickly going to become a treasure of Ellis, and even western Kansas.

Stopped in for breakfast, not wanting the excuse Days Inn serves, and I was very pleased.
Cute down home cafe with excellent food and service. I had chicken fried steak, hash browns, two eggs, and a pancake, with coffee. All for 8.00+tax. Well worth much more.
So, get off the Interstate and give it a try.

I eat at Gigi’s at least 2-3 times a week, every week. The service is great. The weekly specials are awesome. Fresh burgers, crispy fries, and rotating daily specials. There really is nothing bad happening at Gigi’s. It’s great to have such a delicious establishment in Ellis.

Clean, attractive, welcoming cafe with SUPER service, happy wait staff and a kitchen which puts out the very best in comfort food diner-style. Saturday A.M. This isn’t crazy, or if you’re lucky–chipped beef on toast! Definitely worth the few minutes off I-70.

We live in Ellis but don’t always get around early enough to have breakfast out. When we do, we stay in Ellis. Why travel all the way to Hays when Gigi’s is clean, tasty, and friendly? We love having this restaurant in Ellis and are happy that it gives travelers a good impression of our little town.

Gigi’s Cafe is a notch above most small town eateries. The customer service and attention was something special. The food is plentiful and some of the best I have had in many years and the prices were something not found in most restaurants. Well worth the 3 minute detour off of Interstate 70.
