The bakers at Giant Eagle bakery are rude and anything but helpful. First off- they have none of the products that they used to. They don’t even make large sub rolls anymore. Limited bread to choose from. Their donuts are good. My main issue is the service concerning the Birthday cake I ordered back in May. During pick up, my son had to wait for an hour in line because the woman who ordered a cake who was in line infront of him, came to pick up a cake that was non existent because they forgot to make it!
Fast forward to today, July 7, I called to order a birthday cake for my daughter. She wanted Peppa Pig. Baker told me she had
no idea what that was, but didn’t have enough patience to hear
me spell it for her. Told me she had to go “and check the whole book now” when she got back on the phone she told me she didn’t have the kit,
only an illustration. Told her I didn’t want that, I wanted a kit. So i asked her if she had Minnie Mouse or Mickey and Friends-
she said very rudely “i thought you want Peppa….” after I was just told they didn’t have the kit and told her I didn’t want an illustration. She had to put me on hold to check the book. How hard
is it to just check and see if you have the kit? She put me on hold and another person picked up and said “Giant Eagle bakery” that is when I hung up the phone and ordered a 1/2 sheet cake from Sam’s Club, online , and costed half the price of Giant Eagles $58 half sheet cake— my cake I ordered back in May from there looked nothing like the picture anyway, a bunch of things were
missing. Save yourself the trouble, go to Sam’s Club
or use a reputable bakery or private baker. Giant Eagle bakery sucks, and they used to be great!
