We visited during the Christmas season and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays – it really added to the warm, festive atmosphere.
Our dinner began with the artichoke Dijon appetizer – absolutely delicious!
Warm, complimentary bread was served right away, and the service throughout the entire evening was truly outstanding – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming.
For our entrées, we ordered the lasagna and the linguine de mare. I asked to substitute angel hair pasta for the linguine, and they were more than happy to accommodate. In fact, you can pair any pasta from the menu with any pasta dish – a nice touch!
All dinner entrées come with your choice of a house salad or the soup of the day. We both went with the minestrone, which was hearty and full of flavor. I did miss having some noodles in it, but overall it was very tasty.
When our main courses arrived, they were fantastic – perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Both the lasagna and the seafood pasta on angel hair were excellent.
If you’re looking for great Italian food served with genuine care in a lovely setting, you owe it to yourself to try this place. Highly recommended – we thoroughly enjoyed our evening!

We showed up at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday. We gave them 15 minutes notice for a table of 11. They accommodated us. The pizza was absolutely delicious. The size was gigantic. Place was beautifully decorated for christmas. This is our new go to restaurant for pizza in Chicago!

Gianni’s Italian Restaurant is a hidden gem near my house. It’s a bit tricky to find since it blends in with the surroundings, but once you discover it, you’ll love it. The food is delicious and authentic, and the customer service is fantastic—super welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself is well-kept, clean, and has a cozy atmosphere. Fantastic deep dish! It’s got a less sweet sauce that I loved. Also a good chianti on offer. A table of ten older locals came in while my wife and I were having dinner and started shouting at each other in Italian. That’s PRECISELY the vibe I want from my local Italian restaurant. Couldn’t be happier!

Visited for the first time, the restaurant was not busy and yet they took a very long time to serve us. The food was amazing, tasted good but it took way more time that we anticipated. Server forgot our drink and did not check on us. I still recommend this place just come in with the mindset that you will spend time here.

Gianni’s is one of those hidden gems that no one really talks about, but they should. It’s tucked away in a small, non-glamorous strip of storefronts. Blink and you’ll miss it…, or just assume it’s not even a restaurant. But once you step inside, you’re in for a real surprise.
Every time I go, I try something different, and I haven’t been disappointed yet. The food is incredible, consistently fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced.
Now, depending on your server, the service can be a little lacking. But honestly, the food and prices more than make up for it.
A true neighborhood spot that’s worth seeking out. Just don’t judge the book by its cover, you’ll be glad you gave it a shot

A hidden gem. The food is great, the staff is great, prices are reasonable, you get your money’s worth. It’s clean. The only thing I would suggest is dimming the lights a bit, but it’s really not that bad. Definitely one of my new go to restaurant for Italian food.

I went to Gianni‘s on a referral from my father. This is his favorite restaurant he has been bragging about it for the last six months. I went down on Frisay Had a wonderful meal and then forgot my credit card there. I called the next day and they told me they had the card. I was so happy they returned the next day picked up my card and I gotta tell you it was a great experience all around good people great food. honest, hard-working family restaurant.and very reasonable prices
