When we arrived, the online tracker said our order was ready. I went inside and told the young lady at the counter that I was there to pick up an online order. She seemed a bit confused about that and asked me to clarify if I used the “Slice app” and I said I believe so but I used the link on the homepage of their website. I proceeded to wait patiently for 15min, as if they forgot to make our order but didn’t want to tell me that. I was told multiple times “it will be right out.”
Eventually I got the order and took the pizza and salad back to our Airbnb. If I knew what was to come, I would have checked the order before I left with it. That’s on me.
First thing we did was open the salad and it was absolutely pathetic. We stared at it in disbelief, laughing at what we were looking at. For $7, our “Italian salad” was a handful of lettuce with maybe 8-10 cubes of little diced tomatoes, if that. That’s it. Just 95% lettuce with a tiny bit of tomato haphazardly thrown in (see image).
We also noticed we only received ranch dressing and never got our Italian dressing. Ugh!
We also asked on the app, since it was an option, for plastic silverware and plates. You guessed it… Didn’t get that either.
Then we open our pizza. Instead of the stuffed crust that we ordered, we got a thin crust and there was barely any green pepper on it. The pizza wasn’t cut properly so we were having to tear the slices apart the best we could.
The pizza itself was pretty decent, so I’ll give them that. Good sauce, good crust, and good cheese. But it wasn’t what we ordered/paid for or were planning on having and they really skimped out on the green pepper which was also disappointing.
So for $40 we got a medium thin crust pizza with skimped on toppings, a fistful of plain lettuce with a tiny bit of tomato thrown in, and a little cup of ranch dressing and no Italian dressing which we also ordered. Awesome.
We typically go to Nancy’s Pizza when we visit and that’s what we’ll continue doing from now on. If you do decide to try Gianni’s for carry out, be 100% sure your order is correct before you leave and don’t bother with their pathetic excuse of a “salad.”
Maybe we just went on a bad day, but this was our unsatisfying experience.
