Another hidden gem in South Kansas City! Saw this place when it was under construction and couldn’t wait to try it. I was finally able to try the food to go and was amazed at the taste and quality of the food! The marinara sauce is AMAZING! I liked it so much I went back the next day and took my mom. She had the sampler, and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and mozzarella sticks. Everything tasted amazing and did not disappoint! The bread….wow….the bread alone could be a meal. I’ve never tasted bread like that before, and it came out hot! They just opened, and I hope they get some traffic and are able to make it because I am a Johnny Cascones fan, but the food here is far better!

Tried this new restaurant in South Kansas City last Friday night. It has only been open two weeks. Overall I would say food quality was very good, service was good, they do need to work on a few issues to get five stars.
I did ask to speak to the owner, who is a young guy about age 35. He seemed very eager to learn how to better serve customers. I will definitely try the restaurant again.
There were three of us dining, I had the veal piccata over linguine noodles. The sauce was very good.
My date had a chicken dish. I can’t tell you what it was specifically but it tasted good. It had sort of a lemon spinach cream sauce.
The other diner had lasagna and she said it was very good.
It’s hard being a new restaurant. I wish the owner of the very best because it’s always difficult getting started.

Great staff that was nice and attentive. The food was of very high quality. I had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and the shrimp alfredo for my dinner. The mozzarella sticks were lightly breaded but still had a great bite and crunch to them with a very satisfying cheese pull. The mozzarella was very flavorful and the texture was excellent. The Alfredo tasted very rich with a creamy texture. The shrimps were plentiful and large. The sauce needed a little more salt and pepper but it was very good without. The bread was also nice. The texture was excellent but the bread itself was missing salt in my opinion. The location and eating area is good.

I myself got the chicken Alfredo and it was amazing! My wife got the tour of Italy, she said the chicken Parmesan hit the spot! My daughter got spaghetti and meatballs and basically licked the bowl. I’m picky when it comes to my Italian food, this place didn’t disappoint at all! One heck of a true hidden gem! The owner is nice and friendly. I’ll be coming back to this place over and over! If your like me and know what Alfredo sauce should be like this is the place!!!

My experience at Gianni’s was fantastic, to say the least. The location is unassuming, but the food and customer service are high quality.
The group I was with started off with the cheese sticks appetizer – they were so delicious we had to put in a second order.
The pre-meal bread they bring to your table is fantastic. It reminded me more of a garlic knot than traditional table bread. We saved our marinara from the cheese sticks appetizer and dipped the bread in that instead of spreading butter on the bread.
I ordered the Tour of Italy since I wanted to try all of the primary entree items. Everything was so delicious, I even cleaned my plate. While the chicken Parmesan was not the crispiest, it was the JUICIEST chicken Parmesan I have ever had. I have never had a more flavorful Alfredo sauce before, I’ll probably be ordering the chicken Alfredo next time solely because of how good it was!
We ended the meal with some Tiramisu, which was clearly homemade and was the creamiest and smoothest Tiramisu I have ever had.
The gentleman who runs the restaurant, while I did not catch his name, is kind and courteous and will make sure you have a good experience at his restaurant.
I just wish I lived closer!

It wasn’t good but it wasn’t bad. The girl who started us I don’t think she done English, there’s a sign that says wait to be seated and she just stood there and looked at us and then pointed. The tablecloths were dirty, some of the plates were dirty. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and it was creamy but no flavor, my husband ordered the tour of Italy and he said it was mid, the only good thing was the bread they bring out. We ended up spending $60 which was ridiculous because it definitely wasn’t worth it. I love Italian food especially pasta and I only went here because of the reviews but it definitely wasn’t worth it at all

We have been here five times since they opened, and every time has been better than the last. We took friends from out of town here for dinner, and our guest said it was the best chicken Parmesan ever had we continue to be impressed by the efforts they put forth. During one of the frigid days in January, the restaurant that usually hosts my Bridge group was closed due to frozen pipes. I called Angelo the GM and he said we could have lunch and then play bridge for the rest of the afternoon. He couldn’t have been any sweeter on my accommodating, the food is outstanding and I really hope this place makes it over the long haul in a spot that has had much restaurant turnover

Came in with my family on a Sunday night. Got some wine and appetizers. The waitress (Probi) was extremely friendly and honestly just a wonderful person to be around. The atmosphere of the restaurant was quaint and enjoyable. We got some wine, which was great. The cheese bread and mozzarella sticks pulled apart exactly like you’d want.
Great experience. My wife and I are already planning to come back for a date night soon.

The food was absolutely amazing – best Italian food in KC I’ve had! I had the tour of Italy, the shrimp scampi, the mussels marinara, and the foccacia. The scampi and fettuccine were incredible and the mussels I could not get enough of! Staff was so friendly and approachable and we absolutely will be coming back

Went for an early Friday date night dinner. It was a disaster. Ordered a salad, no salads because the manager isn’t there. Say what now? I ordered Chicken Marsala bc I love the dish. I was clearly served Chicken Picatta. There was visably a pile of capers and zero mushrooms. The waitress argued with me that it was the right entree, she disappeared and brought me the ticket that said Marsala. Only after I ask for a menu and pointed out the ingredient differences would she agree. I had to sit while my husband ate his pasta. He was done by the time my correct entree arrived. It was so salty it was barely edible. Never ask how our food was. We had to ask for water refills bc no one ever checked back. Since we were ready to go, I took the rest of my dish home and asked for another roll to go with it and was told no, we don’t do that. I think a roll would have been compensation for the late entree. Other restaurants would have offered a discount or free drink/dessert and I can’t even get a roll?! Had to ask for box and bill. Heard some other tables express their frustration with service. This was our second visit and I will not be returning.
