You may think Giacomo’s Italian Restaurant is just an ordinary family restaurant.
Giacomo he was given the opportunity to start a restaurant in Charlotte and become part of Carlo’s Italian Restaurant. Throughout twenty two years in Charlotte.Beginning a new chapter of the restaurant business, Giacomo and his new partener ,Salvatore Illiano ,who has true passion for cook. Salvatore, also an immigrant from Naples, Italy after being the head chef for many years in Virginia, he had the opportunity to open his own restaurant in with his wife in Concord NC, beginning to make their dreams come true. Sal soon opened Romano’s Pizza in 2000, and had it for over 10 years.
Casual, family-owned restaurant serving pizza, subs, pasta & other familiar Italian dishes.

We’ve been driving by this place for years and always say ,” we should try this place.” As we love Good Italian food. Well, today was the day we finally stopped in and tried it. I ordered what I saw written on the board , Lobster Ravioli. It came with a salad and 2 pieces of bread. The Lobster Ravioli was absolutely delicious! Generous portions too. I will be getting more than one meal out of it. We also ordered a mushroom pizza. The food came out quickly and was hot and freshly made. We were seated in a booth and it was comfortable seating without feeling intrusive with other diners. We look forward to enjoying our leftovers and we will definitely be back again We sat in the booth with the picture of Sophia Loren who famously said, ” Everything you see I owe it all to spaghetti ” . Nice place to enjoy an Italian meal, my only suggestion would be to include a calamari salad on the menu.

The primary difference between good pizza and great pizza is the next day cold pizza for breakfast test. I can tell you that compared to Ohio Pizzas the toppings were a on the sparse side and the pizza needs a little more a little more sauce. From past experience that will drop this pizza from great into good. It was tasty…There are leftovers I may have to reevaluate, but in the meantime, I submit my review. BUT with Lasagna and Veal Parmesan on the menu,
I will be back. Update I was so impressed by their pizza that been back twice. I had the veal Parmesan. It was very good.. then I had wonderful lasagna and I also enjoyed it. They’re definitely one of the rare gems in the area and I will go back again.

Had a great experience ordering from this pizza place for a party! We got pizzas, wings, breads, salads, and pasta—everything was fresh and everyone loved it. I placed the order over the phone, and the agent was incredibly patient and helpful. At the end of the call, he even made sure to ask about all the extras we might need, like plates, sauces, chilli flakes, Parmesan, and cutlery.
Everything was packed neatly and in a way that made it super easy to carry. Really appreciated the attention to detail and customer service. Highly recommend!

My friends and I love Giacomo’s. It’s easily one of our top restaurants in University City, if not the whole city. The pink cheese ravioli is a must. It is so creamy and flavorful. It has a robust tomato taste with the perfect amount of cheese to cream ratio. I also love the pizza. It is definitely a good portion for your buck. The pizza isn’t oily and had a great undercarriage. Great sauce to cheese ratio. I love using a little bit of that pink sauce on the pizza as well. The staff are always wonderful and helpful. Service is fast and food is delicious! Would recommend.

The staff were very friendly, and the spaghetti and meat sauce was solid and tasty. Too much food for one sitting but will make a great lunch for tomorrow.

This is for Ms Sherry ! She was absolutely pleasant . Very inviting and sweet she is . Will come back just for her ❤️.
The chicken picatta was very light and citrusy, just the way I like it ! Though it was a tad too too lemony for my preference, but it’s nothing like some table side garlic powder, salt and Parmesan cheese couldn’t fix !
Got a slice of pizza to go as well, after all, it’s a pizzeria too! Give it a solid 7.2 on the pizza and 7.4 on the chicken picatta . Will come back for the creamier based sauces since they’re made to order .

1st time coming here for lunch, the host greeted us immediately, and our waitress was so nice and attentive. I could tell this was a very mom/pop type of place, meaning: regulars (customers), warm environment, and presentation/taste of their food. The food both smelled and tasted amazing. Personally, I had the mushroom alfredo. The noodles were cooked so good, the sauce seasoned well and you can taste the butter. I hate an alfredo that is lacking sauce, you won’t get that here!
This definitely will be our go-to for italian!
