We started with wine and an appetizer. We had meatballs with bread. It was good. The sauce was a little sweet and a little spicy. Just right. The wine was wine. We both had Chianti Classico. I guess I’m not a fan of wine.
For dinner, I chose Giovanni and my daughter picked Bolognese. I feel like the chicken was seasoned to perfection, but the rest fell flat. I didn’t expect the vegetables that were served in the dish. It was good though. I didn’t ask for salt. Thought that would’ve been rude. We got full pretty quickly. However, we saved room for dessert!
I was in the mood for cake. I was hoping in my soul there would be tiramisu. There wasn’t. My soul cried. But instead I had the chocolate cake. It was rich. I had my server (who was excellent, by the way) pack up my Crostata Cremosa al Cioccolato in a box along with my dinner. My daughter ate/drank her dessert which was Affogato.
We had a good time. I would return and I would recommend.
Appetizer, pasta, and dessert were all absolutely delicious ✨
One of our dinner guests was born in Rome, Italy, and he leaned more towards the appetizers, however I agreed with our waitress that the pastas were really the highlight. The cavatappi with cauliflower was my favorite, (the tortellini and carbonara were also phenomenal), but there were too many incredible dishes to even know where to begin other than that. Only thing I didn’t care for was the flavor of the beets – overly sweet, almost cherry-like flavor. I also thought the older, Italian gentlemen was frickin’ adorable, and really made the meal all the more special.
Definitely worth the wait for an incredible foodie experience.
Bonus- they give proceeds to non-profit animal rescues
Tiramusu was also great. Very cream heavy with generous chocolate shavings. It took 3 of us to take it down since it was so rich.
Food is good. I don’t think of a true Italian food, but that is probably mostly due to ingredients here in America.
We tried 3 pastas, there were all fine. I felt two of the. We’re missing some salt as well as the burrata which was an excellent combination with the arugula, but the actual cheese was a little bland.
We found a hair in a chicken dish, they remade it and removed it from the the bill without us asking for it. Good attention there.
Server felt quite pushy, good service but still a little “Italian “ without being Italian.
We were also pretty surprised how packed it was on a Wednesday night, so I recommend making a reservation.
Thank you Giacomo for giving my husband and I great food along with an excellent experience! So excited to come back!
