What a lovely little Italian inspired pizzeria. You cannot go wrong with wood- fired pies, at least I have not so far. We ordered the Stinger, and it was delicious, savory, sweet, fluffy with an outer crust. We were also able to try some of their classic Caesar, spot on, nothing out of the ordinary there. The calamari is delicious, not chewy, cooked perfectly and crispy on the outside. Also, the Paccheri Vodka was delightful, packed with the right amount of flavor and its sausages gave it a little extra salty kick. The interior was nice and clean, modern, and decent in size, a respectable number of tables and the staff was nice as well and fast. The parking is not the best. I only assume on busy days since this is such a nice restaurant there would be a larger lot, but it is a little minimal, but we did find parking with just a little walk to consider. If I am ever in the area I would not mind coming back and enjoying the other options here. But this place did not disappoint, so why not give it a shot.

Visited this restaurant for the first time on a weekend. Since we had a reservation, we were seated quickly. We started with the ricotta and honeycomb, but the bread served with it was slightly burnt, which left a strange aftertaste. For the main course, we tried the pear and caramelized onion pizza. On the server’s recommendation, we went with their wood-fired pizza, which they are known for—it was good. The service was quick, and the restaurant has a nice ambience. We had some leftover pizza, and it even tasted good the next day. Our server also mentioned that pizzas are half off on Mondays. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d stop by again to try some of their other pizza options.

So, I don’t usually go to a lot of chained restaurants but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. This location is in downtown Downers Grove, close to the train tracks. There is a free public parking lot nearby as well. Our server was very friendly and attentive. He made sure our food was to our liking. We ordered Tuscan shrimp + polenta, paccheri vodka, and linguine carbonara. Prices were very fair and reasonable. The restaurant was clean. There is seating inside and outside.
-Tuscan shrimp + polenta 5 – the combination of ingredients really worked well. It’s not too salty when you eat all of it together. It has a tiny kick from the roasted peppers.
-paccheri vodka 5 – the sauce was very creamy and delicious. You got a good amount of meat with the giant rigatoni pieces.
-linguine carbonara 5 – this is a lighter dish compared to the paccheri vodka, but it’s still a great dish. You can definitely taste that parmesan cream and black pepper.

This place is a rare combination of amazing food, great atmosphere and service, and very good prices. The short rib gnocchi is insanely good. The sauce with notes of rosemary and black pepper is savory and so good without being greasy at all. The short rib melts in your mouth. The carrots and French beans are cooked and glazed to perfection. And the gnocchi is just pillowy. Every bite of this dish is just 10/10. We also had the eggplant parm small plate. So delicious, perfect quantity for one person. I would be thrilled to have that as my entree any day. The pizzas are usually spot on. Beautiful fluffy yet well baked base in a wood fired oven, great sauce and toppings, always very good. We’re not big on desserts but I think we’ve had their tiramisu before and it was great. Usually we get a small scoop of ice cream to end the meal and the kids love that. Really great family friendly place with dishes that are thoughtfully composed and very well executed.

My co workers and I get the Monday lunch specials often, great deal and plenty of food. The baby kale salad is one of my favorite salads, the lemon vinaigrette is delicious and really ties it all together well. I tried the pesto for the first time today and honestly it was the best pesto that I’ve ever had. Delicious!

Food was excellent as always, but I want to make a special note of the service tonight. Nicky went above and beyond to make our (unannounced) anniversary wonderful. We stopped in for a quick glass of champagne and apps, and ordered pizza and salad to go. Though our visit was relatively brief, it felt like such a treat at the end of a long day because of the friendly, thoughtful service. Nicky even waited to put in our to-go order so that it was hot when we left! As 30-year hospitality professionals, we were impressed with our entire experience. Thank you, Nicky!

Some of the best Italian and wood fired pizzas on the planet. Good cocktails and even a good kid’s menu. Give this place a try and you will be hooked. They are opening many locations in the area.
