As a pho lover I have to say GIA LAM on 48th Street is absolutely the best Vietnamese Restaurant in Brooklyn, if not the entire NYC and beyond for a number of reasons.

#1. With today’s inflation, I was able to pay only $43.50 with tax included for 2x pork chop with rice and 2x Pho Soup #1. You will not find a Vietnamese Restaurant this affordable.

#2. The soup base is perfect. The meat and additions are generous and complete compared to other restaurants that is much less or missing certain meats.

The pork chop is abundant. More than 2 pieces are always given compared to other places. And the meat is delicious and well-cooked and char just right.

#3. They make your food fast. I ordered and in less than 15 minutes, it was ready.

I’ve eaten at this place for the past 5 years.

Give it a try. You will definitely not going to regret it.

Just stopped in for a quick bite while in the area running some errands. Food just tastes like the average Vietnamese food you’d normally order. Although I won’t call it authentic unless it’s actually made by Vietnamese people, but that’s just a minor detail.

The pho broth here has changed drastically and completely lacks depth now. However, for $11/bowl, it is probably the cheapest though so you get what you pay for

I’ve ordered the “Banh Mi Bo Xao” – $6.50 and it is not a Vietnamese sandwich; just call it a “sandwich.” It only contains sauteed beef w/ onions, tomato, and lettuce. Many main ingredients like pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber, cilantro, etc are not included.

I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember and watched the prices change. This might be my last time ordering here because I’m always finding objects in my food and today, it was a COCKROACH…..Make sure to check your food before eating.

The tables were greasy, the floors were dirty, and the service was terrible, the overall experience was awful. Won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Very good food and wait time. Pho, roasted chicken and spring rolls are classics, very tasty. Workers are nice and prices don’t change a lot. Plus guava candy at the register. You can get chicken on rice for 8-9 or just chicken for 6.
