My girlfriend and I popped into OOB for a long weekend off season and GFB was the place to be. Live open mic blues night rocked our socks off with some serious talent including the likes of renowned guitarist Mike Hayward. Megs behind the bar remembered our drinks immediately and treated us with the best service around. The owners sat at the bar and we chatted music and fun stories of our pasts. We even stumbled in the following night for karaoke! Definitely the best dive in OOB!

We visited this place during the winter off season, we walked over 20 minutes to get it it because every place was closed and there was not many bars or options around. We had no idea walking in that there would be a band playing that wasn’t to bad at all. Also a birthday party with friendly people that gave us cupcakes, and very welcoming people all around. We could immediately tell it was a bar of locals, but we had fun and stayed all night. The bartender was friendly and I told her I’d try any good local craft beer, she introduced me to a man at the end of the bar who brewed a couple beers, so it sparked a few quick conversations with the bar folks. Seems like the bar has been here a long time with the decor, and some parts were cluttered with… stuff. I bet with a little work there could be more options for this place for entertainment, games, or many great options. Seems like a cool local pub.

I didn’t order food so I can’t rate it but the band that played here on a Saturday night was amazing and one of the bartenders was super sweet! Great, low-key bar in OOB. Jack – the old dog – was a plus!

We went in here while vacationing a couple weeks ago both Friday and Saturday night. The two different Bartenders we had were absolutely amazing and attentive. I can’t say that for the Whaler as we weren’t even acknowledged when we walked in that place and stood there for 10 minutes before walking out. I’m glad we stumbled upon this place instead. The band was also amazing Friday night. If I ever make it back this way I will definitely stop in !
