What a great little restaurant! My friend took me there for a belated birthday celebration and it was delicious! We had an appetizer, pizza and pasta and we can’t wait to go back again! The waitress was kind and attentive and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Please don’t overlook this place because it is amazing!!

My sisters took me there to celebrate my birthday. We were SO disappointed after the rave reviews. We ordered drinks, it took about a half hour to get them– after we had to change our drink order twice because the bar was out of various items. We literally had to to go chase down the waitress to finally get our drinks! Waited another half hour for our food. We ordered a salad to share as an appetizer but it came as the same time as the food, the veggies weren’t fresh and it tasted awful. The sauce for my pasta was meh, pretty bland. Waitress rarely came to check on us. Having been a waitress I am usually pretty forgiving, but this service was pretty awful.

I havent been to Gertie’s in around 20 years. I know a new owner took over so i didnt have high expectations. The food was delicious and the Bolognese was some of the best I ever had. The Pizza appetizers were hot and delicious and despite the heavy toppings the crust was still crunchy and flavorful. I really wanted a fresh glass of Pinot and they opened a fresh bottle of Willamette valley which was meaty and delicious. Everythinf was really good but the highlight was the nice 2 serving size slice of fresh key lime pie. Th crust was super thick and it had the perfect combination of Tartness and Sweetness. I had to order one to go because my daughters devoured through yhe 2 slices which was abour a half of Pie..I would say this is probably the best key lime pie in Western Pie in Western NY right now.
The owner came to say hello and the waitress was friendly and attentive.
If you haven’t tried Gertie’s it is worth the trip. We went around 8 pm and it was pretty quiet.

Please at least try the key lime pie to go if your passing. You wont be disappointed!!!

We moved to Clarence Center almost a year ago and live just around the corner from Gertie’s. We’ve given it a try a few times in the past, but honestly, we were never too impressed—until now.
Last night, we decided to give it one more shot after hearing about the new chef. We’re so glad we did. The food was absolutely exceptional—such a noticeable improvement from our previous visits. My husband had the pork chop, and I ordered the sea bass. Oh my goodness… both were incredible.
We left genuinely excited, and we’ll definitely be back. Gertie’s is officially on our regular rotation now!

The Pasta Bolognese, foccacia bread and Ceasar salad were outstanding. I don’t believe I have ever had bolognese as delicious. Not only was the entree delicious but there were some interesting menu choices. Savanna, our server could not have been more helpful or personable and the seating on the terrace facing west was beautiful. Of course, the weather could not have been more perfect to top off the evening.

We were two couples who arrived at 6:00 p.m., on a Saturday, and had a choice of tables to sit at with no problem at all. We did not order appetizers, three of us ordered the pork chop special and the other person ordered the haddock special. Katie, our waitress, was excellent and kept the cocktails flowing all night. Our meals took way too long and we were finally served a little after 8:00 p.m.. Katie was very apologetic and offered us free desserts. The fish special was excellent, but the pork chops were dry (but tasty). With tip we paid $350. Of course, we gave Katie a very nice tip as she really made the evening as pleasant as possible while we waited for our food to be served. Although the restaurant was not filled, it was difficult to hear our conversation as it became loud at times.

An absolutely wonderful experience! Drinks were tasteful, entree selection was superb. Everything was incredible and delicious! There was not one bad meal between our family of 5. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. 100% would recommend to all friends and family who want a quaint, upscale meal in the heart of the village. Perfect for birthday dinners, anniversaries or dates! Thank you Gertie’s, we will be back and spread the good word in the meantime!

Always a good meal here. Servers are friendly and helpful. And, one of the few conversation friendly restaurants around! NOT one of the usual concrete floor, unfinished ceiling places that seem the norm these days.
Highly recommend the Mediterranean platter appetizer.

Gertie’s offers a pleasant dining experience with a nice ambiance that’s quiet enough for conversation. The service was excellent, contributing to an enjoyable evening.
The dishes we ordered offered some interesting variations. The Caesar salad had a refreshing lemony profile, a pleasant change from the usual garlicy accents. The Bolognese featured an unexpected, subtle hint of nutmeg, which kind of grows on you. The beet salad was also very good.
Overall, Gertie’s provides a solid meal in a comfortable setting, making it a good choice for a pleasant dining experience.
