Where do I even start?? I was recently hired by Gerhards to capture photo and video content and I was blown away! It lived up to the hype. The staff was SO cool and laid back. The atmosphere was immersive. And the food was incredible. They prepared ten or so dishes for me to photograph and at the end of the shoot I got to sample a good handful of them and every one of them was AMAZING. I got to take the rack home and it was also phenomenal (I was told it was the best item on the menu, and though the competition is tight, I do beleive it). I This place is truly a hidden gem.

Was a little bit skeptical when I saw this place was in a strip mall, but once inside the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We had a beer at the bar before getting a table. The bar staff was very friendly and they have a great selection. Once at our table, our server was awesome, Emily was very knowledgeable about the food and was very attentive. I had the beef stroganoff and my wife had the wiener schnitzel, paired with the Austrian salad. The food was amazingly delicious, and the portions were generous. We had peppered strawberries and apple strudel for dessert. I highly recommend eating here, and we look forward to coming back and trying some more dishes.

We were happy to find that several of their dishes are available in half portions, which is great if you want to have a starter or cup of soup. Pictured are the Wurst Small Plate, fried shrimp, fish and chips, French onion soup, goulash, and beef stroganoff.

Gerhard’s Café is an absolute gem. We’ve been travelling across America and this is hands-down the freshest, most delicious food we’ve had. The tomatoes alone were unforgettable. I can personally vouch for the Beef Stroganoff, rich, tender, and perfectly balanced.
Our server Kade was outstanding, warm, knowledgeable, and clearly in love with the history of the restaurant. You can feel the pride in the way she looks after guests.
If you’re anywhere near Spartanburg, book a table. Gerhard’s is the kind of place you immediately want to come back to.

We were a fan of the environment, and plan to return to try other dishes. The steak was 10/10. Asparagus could’ve been cooked a little more to our preference. The roasted chicken was great, I did not know that would be a mushroom gravy over the top, but it was a nice touch of flavor.

This is our new favorite restaurant. Everything we ate was fantastic. We had the beef stroganoff and the hunters pork medallions as our main course and we loved every bit of it. The service was incredible. It being our first time eating there, the server was very helpful in describing various menu items. It will be hard to have a date night anywhere else. The entire experience was perfect.

The food was very good the service was excellent. However the seating was atrocious. I made reservations for 8 well in advance and when we arrived the seating would have been difficult. Unless you don’t mind crawling over other people to get to your seat. Then when I mentioned that the seating would not work the hostess was rude and said she would talk to the manager. Never saw the manager. We did get another table that sat 6 and the hostess indicated that’s the best we can do. So again good food great service just don’t go with a large party and expect to be comfortable.

Really cool place. The food was good as well as the service. Ordered the shrimp and grits, salmon, pretzel, and a few pizzas. The shrimp and grits were not my favorite, it was more like a soup with 2 fried grit cakes. I was not a fan of it. The pretzel was really good as well as the pizzas. The salmon was also really good. Would definitely come back for the pizzas

Food and service are as good as they come. Had the Greek salad and the farmers plate. Greek salad had great flavor and the farmers plate was massive! Everything on it was hot, flavorful and cooked perfectly. Taylor is awesome behind the bar! Will be back for sure.

My fav is the German salad plate and the Hungarian goulash and my hub really enjoyed the pork Wiener schnitzel with fried potatoes!
