“Why are we called Gerard’s if there’s no one named Gerard inside?” Well, our story starts over 50 years ago. Two brothers, Gerard and Real Caron, opened Gerard’s Pizza in 1964. The brothers split, with Real taking the reins, and the restaurant has remained part of the family ever since. Our original location is just a few doors from our current 233 Water Street store.

Placed a big to-go order including a hamburg pizza, chicken Alfredo, fish and chips, and some mozzarella sticks. EVERYTHING was great, and the fish portion was huge!! The cashier was super friendly, double-checked my order, and even opened the door for me to get out since I kinda had my hands full. We’ve ordered other things in the past, and the food and service is consistently good. We’re lucky to have this place!

I have been coming back to Gerards for past three years. Being gluten free, there are not too many options. Again I remember why I return. After finding out I could not get spaghetti. I decided on a couple of favorite entrees. I sat down. After a small problem, I ate some of my fare. Because of me having more food than I could eat. I took the food they gave me to the warming center. Which were grateful for Gerard’s pizza. Mine I got to put it in my air fryer to reheat. It is delicious. Those of you stuck gluten free, these are not the cauliflower type. They do the pizza up really well. Great customer service.

Was in town for the 2022 Swine and Stein Brewfest in October. For Lunch I had a small Steak Bomb. This was probably the best one I have had so far. For Supper had a large Meatball Sub. Good sized meatballs with a good balance of tomatoe sauce and cheese. Both were toasted with the bread being crispy and delicious. Friendly staff, comfortable seating and a positive atmosphere, thank you!

I really wanted to like this place, especially since the staff was friendly. However, my husband and I ordered a 50/50 veggie and cheese pizza and ended up getting a 70/30 (veggie being the bigger portion). This was quite bizarre and frankly disappointing. By the time the pizza came, I was too hungry really to complain so we just ate. The cheese side tasted good but the veggie was below average. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be returning anytime soon.

Great energy, old school service. The food is not just good it’s Excellent! My pizza was made from fresh quality ingredients! Everything is clean The dining room, the kitchen, is spotless! Chef Ramsey, eat your heart out!

It’s not often, but when I call in my order, which can be complicated because everyone wants something different, but they get it right and mark each item obviously. They offer plates and napkins for my to go order, knowing we will be eating on a boat. They even advised me of less expensive options!

Gerard’s brings me back to New England pizza places before corporate chains. Simple menu board and furnishings let the crew focus on the food. Great flavor. Crust was crispy and chewy. I wish I lived closer.

This is a place I picked while on vacation in Maine. We were looking for a place to eat quickly and this place not only had great food but quick service. Very clean and handicapped equipped. The owner happened to be there and one would not even know. He waited on customers and cleaned as the other employees did. I was taken back to learn he was the owner of Gerald’s Pizza. We ordered a cold cut sub. The bread was fresh and perfect. Another guess ordered a cheese pizza and it lacks nothing. Tasty and cooked to perfection. If you are ever in the area be sure to try this place. You will not be disappointed!
