One of the best shawarma spots I’ve tried!
I stopped by Georgie’s Shawarma during my visit to Sault Ste. Marie, and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The food tastes fresh, authentic, and full of real Syrian flavor. The chicken shawarma was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and the garlic sauce was spot-on.
The owner and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming — you feel the hospitality from the moment you walk in. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal.
Great portions, great prices, and great people.
Definitely deserves the 4.8 stars — and for me, it’s a solid 5/5.
Highly recommended!

Holy falafel!!! I dream of the toasted sesames on the outside and the perfect texture of the falafel insides. Another highlight is the amazing pickles. Apparently I just ate the falafel without taking a picture because it was so good. Get that baklava too! Heck, get 2 to go! This place is authentic, heartfelt and amazing. 10/10

This was one of the most delightful meals I’ve had outside the middle east. Fabulous food, great staff, in a very friendly environment! The hummus was creamy and combined with the zataar really lit up the taste buds! The falafel wraps were incredible with a plethora of flavors in every bite!

This place was legit.
Flavor bomb in your mouth with every bite of the traditional shawarma and the falafel wrap.
They didn’t skimp on the toppings.
Taste so garlicky it was amazing.
This place is better than all the Shawarma places in Sudbury. Also, rivals Boustans in Montreal, and Shawarma Palace in Ottawa.

Owner was so very kind! We had only ever experienced non-traditional shawarma in Ottawa. The owner explained the difference between traditional and non-traditional shawarma and even gave us a sample of the traditional pomegranate molasses, which was delicious! The food was outstanding! The chicken was incredibly moist. If we were local to the area, this would definitely be added to a weekly schedule for food.
The lentil soup was very flavourful and nutritious! Thank you!!

I was introduced to Georgie’s in November by a friend who said it is one of the best restaurants in Sault Ste. Marie. He was not wrong. The food was amazing and the owners are simply wonderful people. The restaurant is quaint and the service is quick and pleasant. This past weekend I was in town to play with the Symphony Orchestra which I highly recommend you here if you get the opportunity. When I cross the border, the first thing I did was go to Georgie’s for the lentil soup. That was followed by a second visit on Saturday at lunch for more soup and a third visit also occurred that day. His lentil soup is to die for. Sadly, I will not be back in Sault Ste. Marie until May, so I will have to patiently wait. This is a must visit place if you were ever in Sault Ste. Marie.

Was in town over night and our group arrived near closing time. We were warmly welcomed and all 10 of us were quickly seated and served some of the best Shwarma, pickled veggies, falafel, and hummus I have ever had in all my travels. To top it off we were sent on our way with cups of heavenly lentil soup to go on a frigid winter night. You HAVE to try this place if you’re in town.

WOW!!! Being an Arab myself from the Middle East, I know what the authentic taste of so many dishes should be and this restaurant is for sure delivering the authentic taste for everything. The chicken shawarma is so fresh and marinated with the right spices wrapped in a delicate saj bread. The presentation of the dish is savoury yet gives you that feeling that this food was prepared by a family member with love. The falafel are so good, it’s very rare to find a restaurant that knows how to make falafel. This one knows what they are doing, though I would suggest they serve the falafel plate with a side plate of bread so one would enjoy assembling their own wrap.
I’m glad we decided to try Georgies during our visit and I encourage everyone who visits the city to come by and try the food.
The complimentary tea is so good, it have a cinnamon flavour.
So proud of you guys.

Georgie’s was the best Shwarma we’ve ever had. Staff was awesome, and food was even awesome-r. Had the untraditional Shwarma, and falafels. Cinnamon tea was tasty too!
If I could give 10 stars I would – huge thank you to the staff – you rock.
