We made reservations for Christmas a few weeks ahead and I’m so glad we did. They were fully booked up. I requested a table by a window since we’re from the Midwest and we just don’t get views like this back home, and they made it happen. Our server was wonderful, he made sure we had everything we needed. The view was fantastic, but honestly, it looked like nearly every table had a good view, even if it wasn’t by a window. They got us in right at our check-in time.

The food was delicious. I had a Caesar salad, halibut fish and chips, and their Christmas special chocolate raspberry cake. I was so full afterward because it was all so good. The portions were very nice.

It is on the pricey side, but it’s so worth it. It was my Christmas gift to my husband, and we both really enjoyed the food and experience. Some folks may be used to those prices, but this was definitely a special occasion type thing for us.

Second time I’ve eaten here and it’s just fantastic. Not super fancy with micro greens and tweezers but the flavors are spot on. I’ve had several different things and it’s all great!
Pictured are the mixed seafood papardelle from the seasonal menu, along with the tenderloin pasta Diablo and the burrata appetizer.

I got the bowl of clam chowder here and it’s probably the best I’ve ever had! And I’m from San Francisco, so that means a lot. The service was great, we got a woman named Beth and she was very kind, took a picture of my family and everything. The French fries were also very good, soft on the inside and crunch on the outside. And not to mention the view!

Food was very good and it tasted amazing! The food looked nicely put together, the cheese cake was beautifully decorated. The oysters were well seasoned and fresh. The Apple cinnamon fizz ( non alcoholic) tasted very good as well! The view was amazing view of the ocean! The service was good and the staff was very kind!

Wow, just wow. The service was friendly and efficient, not hovering. The food was REALLY good – the flank steak and eggs was delicious, and the hash browns were perfect. But – if you’ve made it this far in the review – the views are AMAZING! The Oregon coast is drop dead gorgeous, and this restaurant has amazing views from just about every table (we got one right by the window)

Just had a birthday dinner here and the food was excellent. However the staff never did actually acknowledge the birthday and overall sort of bare minimum effort service. My date requested a bottle of beer and was brought a flat draft, as tho they were emptying the keg. The steak was phenomenal, though, and while the booth seats are a little tight (I definitely recommend requesting a window seat) the view at sunset was incredible and the Bloody Mary I ordered was really good, too, and I’m kind of a snob about them. The bread they brought out was also amazing. The rice pilaf was good, but the vegetables are just sad. My date got the fisherman’s stew and said it was ok, but that there could have been more prawns than the 3 they give you. 4 stars overall.

The bowl of clam chowder was absolutely top-notch. And when I say bowl, I mean a bowl. They gave such a huge portion that you could just eat an appetizer and the clam chowder and you would have enough. We had steamer clams on the table as well and they were a fantastic flavor. I also ordered the Diablo seafood pasta. It was sweet and mildly spicy. The meal comes with complementary sourdough bread and butter.

The atmosphere was nice. They have an automatic window cleaner that was interesting to watch as it turned on and cleaned all the sea breeze from the windows. It is family, friendly, but majority of the clientele seems to be the older generation.

Overall, I gave it a five star as it was well worth it. Our bill came to around $100 plus tip.

Four of us began our superb dining experience at Georgie’s Beachside Grill in charming Newport, Oregon while the sun was setting. Everything was just right, starting with spectacular views of the Pacific’s breaking surf from the picture window next to our table. As darkness fell, we could make out the rotating bright white beam from the historic light house at Yaquina Head. The comfortable and quiet dining area was beautifully appointed and softly lit, and inspired easy conversation. Our host Jose was personable, professional, knowledgeable and efficiently accommodating. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our delectable meals: Herb encrusted halibut and salmon, Caesar salad with a generous portion of fresh Dungeness crab, chicken teriyaki rice bowl and clam chowder. I am a Seattle area chowder enthusiast who has sampled chowders all over the U.S. and Canada, and I say without hesitation that Georgie’s is the BEST of the lot. After the first bite, I felt slightly levitated from the heavenly buttery flavor and velvety smooth texture. And the clams — so deliciously tender, they practically melted in my mouth. I couldn’t stop thinking about this scrumptious chowder on the drive back home to Washington, and we have already started planning our next trip, which will include a stop in Newport and a visit to Georgie’s. Many sincere thanks to the entire staff for the world-class food and service – it is so rare these days to get both at the same time in even a high quality restaurant. We really appreciate all that you do to make that happen! With love — Marcie, Bob, Kathy and Steve.

I was really excited to try this place for the first time…I’m a big ribeye steak fan for a long time, and since I am from Texas also, I am a bit familiar with steak and bbq. While it looks really good on the picture, the taste goes the other way…. For an expensive 12oz. $47steak, this is a big dissapointment. it was rubbery and chewy, super thin and has no marbling in it for a medium cooked steak…. I really tried to like it since me and my wife already started eating. There is no taste at all, it’s supposed to be juicy, tender and has a lot of flavor for the type of meat. I feel bad to say this, but i think they used “poor man’s ribeye” (chuck eye steak), or a “low quality beef” instead of a real ribeye steak…The veggies and rice pilaf is also vey dry…. I think the simple steak at Golden Corral has better taste than this.

We went to Szabo’s the next day, and their charbroiled ribeye steak satisfied my cravings overall, and it’s more cheaper by the way.
