For $2.50 per bagel you would expect high quality. That was unfortunately not my experience. The bagels appeared large but that is because they had a huge center. Additionally, they were quite thin and hard as a rock. Maybe it’s because I went later and they were sitting all morning? Drive the extra 5 minutes and go to Bethesda Bagels.

It’s one thing if something doesn’t taste great. It’s another thing to knowingly serve a bagel that is burned and black when it would take seconds to make a fresh one. Basic quality control goes a long way. Disappointing.

Food is mediocre at best. Used to be a regular here, but it’s gone completely down hill. Everything bagel was just sesame seeds and just some poppy seeds (and definitely not “everything”). Front staff had no personality, coffee was mediocre, and prices have gone up exorbitantly.

First time here, and the workers are really nice! You can smell the freshness of the bagel when you first walk in.

Ladies working the register were wonderful and kind! Jalapeño cheddar bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese was tasty, and had the perfect amount of CC. Will come back!

I’m just going to come out and say it: Georgetown Bagelry is better than Bethesda Bagels. There, I said it. It’s true. The crumb, the chew, the perfect crisp, the flavor…these bagels are objectively superior.

2.5 stars. My experience was on par with the reviews. The majority of recent reviews were 1-2 stars but there seems be inconsistent food qualify and service; some had great experience. I’ve been here a few times of the years and agree the qualify has gone down, although my sample size is limited. Our ‘toasted’ bagel was burnt, bacon on sandwich for kids was also burnt, the salted bagel was way too salty, and the salmon on the lox was not fresh and sliced too thick. It was not spoiled, but not fresh. A bacon , egg, cheese sandwich was over $11 per tax. Service was average- not great but not bad. I won’t be going back.

If I could rate this a zero I would. Have been going to this bagel shop for many years. I now have had a second bad experience within a month. The oven was broken. The bagels are not fresh theres a problem with the refrigerator. I spent too much money on bagels that are not edible. Avoid this place.

I’ve been coming here for at least 20 years starting with my parents when I was a kid but something has changed…. I always get the bagel dog and it used to really be a bagel dog… this one today looks like a flat bread dog… there is just nothing to the bagel… this would not pass my quality test if I was a baker… did you forget yeast?
