The food is always on point. The chicken fried steak is crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with creamy gravy and classic sides. The grilled dishes are cooked just right, the green beans are seasoned to perfection, and the loaded wedges are dangerously good. And let’s not forget the iconic margaritas, ice-cold, strong, and refreshing in those frosty glasses

If you’re able foodie and looking for the dining heart of Waco,TX then look no further than George’s. The staff was beyond welcoming and made you feel like this was the only place you wanted to be. With a slightly over modest crowd we were promptly seated and our orders were taken in less than 3 minutes. No more than 10 minutes went by and our food was served hot and ready. The drinks are sailor approved, the food was impeccable and the environment screams welcome to Waco. 10/10 I would recommend this place to the father, son and the holy ghost if they were looking to the total package. Kudos to everyone involved in making this a worthy experience.

I had the catfish, sweet potato fries and broccoli rice casserole. The fish was very small. The food was good overall but I don’t know if I would visit again. Service was mediocre.

This place seems to amaze me. Its not just a regular bar and grill, this place has actually really good food. I drove an 1 hr to come here and try it. Wow. I the shrimp pasta and getting something like this in a bar and grill is pretty freaking good. Thank you so much and oh, the rolls are delicious as well. Nice and warm and soft. Them there good.

What a surprise! I have never been here before and what an amazing first experience! Chicken Fried Steak was superb! Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! Cream gravy poured over that and my garlic mashed potatoes next to some green beans! Heaven! I added a side of broccoli and rice casserole which was the best I’ve ever had and apparently a customer favorite. Rolls and cornbread, yum! Peach Cobbler and two scoops of ice cream closed this one out! Best meal I’ve had in Waco, by far. Stephanie was my server. She was amazing and never let me be in need. Give that gal a raise! So glad I found this place!

Recommended by a local friend, we were not disappointed at this restaurant! Great, friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Wide variety of items on the menu and VERY AFFORDABLE – we are already planning what we’ll have on our return visit! my wife settled on the Cry Baby Burger w onion rings, and I on the lunch special Chicken Fried Steak. I have to say, the onion rings were probably some of the best we’ve had. She loved the burger and the homemade jalapeño bun. I thought the green beans were also tops on my list, and the CFS breading was just as tasty as the breading on those onion rings. However, the meat was about 80% the size of the breading. It was still so tasty it was good by itself! The gravy was nothing special, though. I wish it was homemade, but it tastes like a generic powder mix. Creamy, but not much flavor. All in all, this is a wonderful place, with the managers walking around greeting customers and attentive servers. We’ll definitely be back !
– UPDATE: We’re back again, and everything was still sooo delicious! Nephew’s Chicken was my attempt at a “lighter” dish (which it was!). The mixed veggies were cooked to perfection! My daughter’s Steak Finger’s from the kids menu were an awesome deal! That breading is out of this world! And the fried mushrooms probably the best we’ve had. Once again, thank you for another great meal and such great value! ❤️

We went there on a Thursday night and had around 15 minutes of wait time. The server was nice. We ordered their fried mushroom for appetizer. It was very crunchy from the outside and soft inside. The portion is pretty good. It came it with ranch. Then we ordered their chicken fried steak and mixed fajita plate. We ordered 8oz steak and it was huge! 4oz would be more than enough I believe. The fajita plate was good too. But next time I would order beef fajita only because the beef was so good! We took their onion rings on top of the fajita and obviously couldn’t finish it. Oh, forgot to mention about their bread and butter that was served before the entree. The bread is very good as well. Super soft and very tasty. I would recommend trying their food if you’re in the area.

I did not like how we were sit in the bar area. There was a large group that the waitress sat right behind my teenage daughter and myself. This college group of people was starting to curse and speak about things a young teen shouldn’t hear. We were in town visiting for a basketball game and trying to enjoy our mother daughter time and we were a bit rushed to finish our food instead of enjoying it and being able to have a conversation was not happening when they were speaking so loud!
I did at the beginning ask not to sit in a smoking area nor at the bar but apparently that is where they were sitting everyone even though they were not closing for almost two hours even though they said the kitchen was closing in an hour. It does not state that on Google nor the website for this location so how do visitors know this information.
We will not visit this location again. We have been tothe other location a few times. That location is better!!! More of a family feel. This location was just closer to where we were. It shows closer is not always better.

The parking is not very good, but possible. Once you get in the atmosphere is very welcoming. Our waitress was amazing and very attentive to us as well as 2 large groups. Major kudos. The food was pretty good!!!! The onion rings were phenomenal! The cornbread has whole corn and jalapeños inside and was so moist! We will be back. My only regret was not coming sooner.
