BEST PLACE TO LIVE THE FRIED CHICKEN DREAM! We had everything from the gyros, fried Chicken, Chicken wings, and alfredo. The fried chicken was definitely the star of the show, next time we will try out the pizza to see how it compares, but it’s going to be tough to not order that fried Chicken again. I was just in Louisville Kentucky and this chicken would hold it’s own in the fried chicken capital of the USA. Great job George’s Pizza! Now just tell me the recipe, I’ll keep it a secret, I promise ha!

This was my first time at George’s Pizza. I had never heard of it, but a quick Google search of pizza places in Brookings had it listed as #1. Well, it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and all the staff were very courteous. We decided to have Greek pizza with bread sticks, fries and baklava! It was all so amazing and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. The atmosphere was cozy and felt like we were being catered to very well. I would recommend George’s Pizza to anyone who wants to experience great food.

Great food! Worth the stop. The chicken gyro was wonderful! Also the gryo salad was amazing. The cucumber sauce was so thick you could stand a French fry up in it. I’ve never had better! Service was a little slow but we had a great server.

Service was extremely slow. We waited 50 minutes from ordering to receiving our food (with 20 of that waiting for only the appetizer). The first time one meal was missing and knew pizza was not ours. Finally got the correct food and it was just fine. Nothing crazy awesome nor bad.

Absolutely delicious. I ate every last bit of the small pizza I ordered and got a calzone for takeaway I’m eagerly waiting to eat for tomorrow.

I got the Yoita’s (kinda a gyro style pizza). Was a unique pizza, so I tried it, and it was very tasty. The thin crust was perfectly crispy, and the blend of all the gyro ingredients surprised me with how much I enjoyed it.

Got told about this place from a border agent some 6+ hrs north, and it did not disappoint.

This is hard to write as I have been going to George’s since 1972 and I like the new owner on a personal level.

Some of the new changes, however, compel me to speak up. While they might be using the same recipes, they are not using the same QUANITIES…the pizza is dry because they are using less sauce. If you want the same amount as the past, you have to ask for extra sauce and they charge you. The chicken has always been amazing…but whereas you used to get 2 pieces of each with an 8 piece, you now only get 1 breast and the rest wings or legs. Even if you ask and pay for all white, you don’t get an extra breast…just more wings. I am not going to pay $20 for 1 chicken breast folks.
Clearly the new management is all about maximizing the profit margin and has removed the value proposition from the equation. They even charge you for using a CC now.

The staff is still super friendly, the atmosphere is inviting, and the little food you get is still good…but you get very little of it for your dollar. Another mainstay of Brookings slips into the past. Sad indeed.

thanks owner…I will stop by when I can

My family has been coming here since the 1970s. Our most recent visit here we had pizza, wings, and the Greek salad – all very, very good. The Greek salad was HUGE and I’ll totally get it again. The shakers of oregano at the table are appreciated.
