Parking is available for walks along the rocky shoreline, viewing of the Ocean from the restaurant and gift shop, or a visit to the neighboring Montauk Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in New York State, commissioned by President George Washington in 1792, for whom the restaurant is named.

On October 25, 2025, I was refused service at George’s Lighthouse Bar & Grill while accompanied by my trained and vested service dog. Despite calmly explaining that he is a legally protected service animal under the ADA, the staff — an older woman with blonde hair who appeared to be a manager — still refused to seat or serve us.
This experience was not only embarrassing and upsetting, but it also violates federal law protecting individuals with disabilities. I’ve since filed a formal ADA Title III complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice and the New York State Office of Parks, as this establishment operates within Montauk Point State Park.
I’m sharing this so others with service animals are aware — and so the management takes this as an opportunity to train staff properly and ensure compliance with the ADA moving forward.

Good to have some spot to get some snack or drink nearby lighthouse. As you can see on the map, no place nearby just park trees and ocean so, of course, the tourist attraction places the price point will be higher than regular but people is willing to pay as there are on vacation, why not?
Anyway, I got an ice cream, fried calamari and soda. I was thinking about get some cocktail, but I saw that only few workers and they were busy, so I didn’t want to bother them. Service was okay, you order everything at the cashier, and they gave you a number then after your food was ready, they brought the food to your table.

Was well worth the four hours drive from manhattan to sample one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. However the true star of the show has to be the French fries, crispy for days.
Super friendly, nice staff well worth a visit !

Stopped in for a bite to eat while at the lighthouse. I decided to take my chance with a lobster roll. It was pretty good for $25 and came with the fries. It was not overdone with Mayo and had nice chunks. I prefer a chunky lobster roll compared to a slaw some places out here try to make it.
They accept credit cards also which is a plus. I’d give it a try again.

George’s Lighthouse stands as a charming coastal beacon, quietly telling stories of the past while offering serene views of the sea. Located in a picturesque setting, this lighthouse is more than just a navigation aid — it is a peaceful retreat for visitors who want to escape the rush of everyday life. The structure itself, though simple in design, has a timeless beauty. Its whitewashed walls and red-capped roof reflect classic maritime architecture that blends harmoniously with the surrounding natural scenery.
What makes George’s Lighthouse truly special is the calm atmosphere it creates. Whether it’s the sound of crashing waves, the occasional cry of a seagull, or the golden hue of the setting sun behind the tower, every moment spent here feels meditative. Visitors can climb to the top for a panoramic view of the coastline, and on clear days, the horizon seems to stretch forever.
Though not as famous as other lighthouses, George’s Lighthouse offers a more intimate and soulful experience. It’s perfect for quiet walks, photography, or simply sitting on a nearby bench and watching the sea. Anyone seeking beauty, history, and peace by the shore will find George’s Lighthouse a hidden gem worth discovering.
