This place is just great. Standard Mediterranean food, but everything is just done well. Terrific fries, amazing seasoning, everything is just so well executed. The service is even better, even though I was a dollar short the man working there didn’t bat an eye to give me the food anyway. On top of that, he gave both me and my friend free drinks out of the kindness of his heart. Great place, highly recommend.

Sure you get silverware! We did not and could’ve used it for our to-go order. Excellent menu options. The Philly gyro is amazing. Seasoned fries are perfect!

Food was great, cleanliness lacking. Place needs a deep clean and some basic updates. Grabbed my food and found a table outside to eat.

Had the (8) Gyro Burger & Fries, (13) Chicken Tikka Korma with rice with a sweet tea. Paid $37 for both dishes plus a drink. Drink not included with any of menu options.

This review is specifically about the DOWNTOWN location.

The food is usually fine, if not occasionally a bit greasy. Depends on who is cooking that day. Professionalism also varies by employee. Some are very kind, others like to be on their phone and make you feel like an inconvenience for having come in to their business.

If you’re going to go to George’s, go to the one on 70/A or 27/Pine Lake. Those are much better locations.

My husband loves Gyros and this place has his favorite! Spicy Z Plate for him… Every. Single. Time. Spanakopita for me, always yummy. They must have been out of Crinkle Fries but they were covered in that same great seasoning so it didn’t really matter. Accidentally gave us Greek Fries initially so we sampled those as well. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Korma for my daughter, she loved it, I knew she would, got 2 meals out it!
Air conditioning wasn’t working or keeping up so that was really difficult.
I swear it’s always the same guy working. He does his best to go above and beyond, soooo accommodating!

The only thing I had left on my mind was the Gourmet Grill. After weeding through the grease of the Fat Toad, I had to find another type of grease. The Chicken Gyro was enough to satisfy my last and only brain cell. Oh my Dragonfly, the Baklava had me yelling allah alkbar. It in itself was enough to fuel me in operation get home. The uber had arrived as I waived goodbye to the last thing on my mind. The Gourmet Grill!

My husband’s very Nebraskan grandmother once told me she just loooves Mexican food, but that Mexican food was just a taco salad from Amigo’s. I believe that if she were to loooove ME food, she would eat at George’s.

The food was exquisitely bland. I’m 95% sure the “tzatziki” was just sour cream with the faintest whisper of cucumber; no detectable lemon juice, garlic, signs of life, nada.

The Gyro meat was tender enough (although I feel terrible for the cows and lambs that gave their lives to be cooked without any seasoning), the pita was, as well. No onions, just iceberg lettuce and the bland tomatoes that restaurants use.

The fries were cooked perfectly but, again, lacked any semblance of taste. The entirety of the meal could have used 4 times the salt.

I suppose if you’re hammered, have true Nebraska taste, or COVID, it would be worth checking out.

Ohhh it was so good! It was also quick and hot! We were craving gyros and this was the best spot to stop and get one. The spicy gyros with their seasoned fries is top notch!! The lady helping us was kind and friendly! It has been awhile since I have been and it was great!
