George’s has some of the best food anywhere in Minnesota, a great and original specialty cocktail menu, a great atmosphere, and great service. The roast duck was the best duck I have ever had. Moist and flavorful, with a nice crisp to the skin. The loaded baked potato on the side was the best potato side I’ve had. We also had the sirloin with a lobster tail add on. The steak was the most perfectly cooked steak I’ve ate. The ahi tuna shooters were also cooked to perfection. The watermelon crawl cocktail was delightful. Fantastic all around.

Just Wow! Had the Ribeye with the Spring Old Fashioned chaser. Ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfect. George’s potatoes are amazing. Don’t reach for the A1 or Heinz. You won’t need it. The OF was top notch. Fabulous service. Great atmosphere. Price is on point . Go! You won’t be disappointed .

Excellent service. The steak special included broccoli and potato baked in salt which were all excellent. We were able to walk in but reservations are recommended. Great options for drinks.

Top 5 meals all time. Service, atmosphere, quality, taste, and price. We started with the stuffed portobello, salad with home made dressing. I had the salmon fish of the day and the misses had coconut shrimp. We finished it off with New York strawberry cheesecake, absolutely decadent. Tip of the hat to our server Nicki and the proprietor George. Definitely a repeat whenever we are in town.

Great steaks is a casual atmosphere. I I believe George’s is invite for their steaks, but everything else is just as good. Come hunger because the portions are large and sides are tasty. This is a place we will visit again and again. Love this place! Margaritas are good too!

I’m giving this place a 3 overall because I think they might have a better steak on the menu but I have not personally experienced it. We had high hopes for this dinner, our friend who recommended the place said his previous experience was a phenomenal steak dinner. We were seated quick and our waitress was spot on perfect with menus, beverages and specials. She was a a joy to experience throughout our stay. They were running a prime rib steak special this Saturday evening, which caught the attention of all three of my dinner companions. I opted for the St. Louis full rack of ribs. Salad and soup were delivered fast. My bride had the vegetable beef soup and was expecting the usual style, which I think most of us are accustomed. She was not impressed with the variation she received. One large thin slice of beef with broccoli and mushrooms in a weak broth. Buyer beware; you might want to stick to the salad. When our main course was delivered I could tell instantly there might be some disappointment in the, dare I call it, prime steak. Now, this is an area of contention for me. If you’re going to put prime rib on your menu make sure its “prime”. Offering a choice grade of meat saying its prime, but its really only a so called “prime cut” is disingenuous and always disappointing. The steak served was tough with no visible marbling and very weak au jus. I’d rather get real prime and pay for real prime. Now for the Ribs, flavorless, coated with an anemic sauce that looked more like a mask than a compliment. I struggled to eat two small parts of it. I did take home the rest of it, doctored it up with seasoning and a good glaze, that made it palatable. The baked potatoes were on point, fresh and delicious. Based on my friends previous experience with a steak off the regular menu, I’m hazzarding a guess that maybe their standard fare of steak and walleye might tell a completely different story.

A true 5-Star experience with George and his wonderful crew! While the hub drove east yesterday I spent a lot of time hunting online for a hotel and nice place for dinner in the area. When I found George’s and read reviews and the menu to my sweetheart, he immediately said Yes! It’s true that we take a chance following other people’s opinions about food, but I can truly say we haven’t had a more personal, entertaining and DELICIOUS dining experience and meal. We sat at the bar because it was hoppin’ on a Tuesday night and had the delightful experience of chatting up George himself—what a sweet and courteous gentleman! He helped us with lodging, ordering our food, and generally life itself.
Fluffy biscuits with whipped honey butter were an exciting start to our meal, followed by fresh dinner salads with homemade Caesar dressing and cheesy croutons. I could have just eaten a couple of salads alone and been very happy—the dressing was one of the best I’ve ever had. The hub’s steak special was Perfect—char-broiled, lean and tender—and the salt-crusted baked potatoes were really yummy and unique. (If you want less salt, don’t eat the peel; if you want more salt, eat the peel—easy-peasy!) “Hands down the best I’ve ever had!” I had the Norwegian salmon and it was incredibly tender and flavorful, with not a whiff of “fishiness.” I shared my carrots with the hub and he gifted me with more of his Brussels sprouts. I felt it was a bold move on the chef’s part to serve a veggie like that and appreciated it. My only request would be that they cut those babies in half and roast ‘em awhile longer. Al dente ‘sprouts are tough for the veggie-reluctant. I did my best but couldn’t finish them all—the salmon had top priority. Wish we’d had room for one of the delicious sounding desserts on offer but the portions were really generous and we’re of the Elder persuasion—doing our best not to grow any bigger! Next time we’ll just have salads and dessert. Thanks a bunch, George and Co, for the wonderful experience—hope to see you again soon. ❣️ ❣️
