Our first time at George’s, and the food did not disappoint. The Fat Boy burger and Greek salad were delicious. The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable when we asked questions about the menu.
Due to the “Whatever” signs on the restroom doors, I did not enjoy the atmosphere. Male/female…simple.

I have ordered from here a few times and the fries are terrible. This is a signature item at George’s! It seems to me they are cooking them and reheating them. They are dry and brittle and taste gross. I ordered again today to give them another chance and they are the worst I’ve ever had.

I was apprehensive as a first time customer when I looked at the prices, but the portions more than make up for the cost. Cashier was very professional and gave good service with a smile. It was a little slow to get from order taking to order ready, however. Though that could be partially my fault for coming in close to closing time.
The fries and gravy are INCREDIBLE though. Has to be some of the best gravy in town IMO. If they had a poutine where it was just a simple fries, cheese curds, and maybe some spring onion to garnish and add that little extra flavour, you’d have the best poutine in Portage right here.

The burgers are best in this town (sorry Jimmy’s) and you get a good amount of fries. Milkshakes are certainly the best. Atmosphere in the restaurant is clean and nice. The staff are wonderful. Check it out! I definitely recommend it!

Lots of food for the price. My double bacon burger was delicious and the fries are so good. Had to wait a bit for my food (it was fairly busy at the time) but that’s okay. Hopefully in the future the restaurant hours will increase and maybe even have online ordering. 🙂
