Caught this food truck at Dees Memorial Park in Pikeville. Great find. Their menu is exactly what their title says with a smoked side theme, it seems. Has a few sauces to choose from.
I got their pork plate with two sides ($15). I chose smoked mac and cheese and smoked collards as my sides. Here is my breakdown:
Pork: Wow. Just wow. This is pulled, extremely moist, tender, and doesn’t require much chewing. I don’t remember having pulled pork this excellent in consistency and flavor. I put their version of Eastern style sauce on it, but it really is fantastic in itself. The sauce is typical with the slight vinegar and pepper zing. Please get this meat.
Smoked mac and cheese: Another wow. Shells, cheese goodness, with some bread crumbs (?) on top. It does indeed have that smoke flavor and is a great combination. Fantastic.
Smoked collards: Wow a third time. Heavier and not finely chopped like you may get elsewhere. I like this. Very moist and heeping with flavor.
All of these are a reorder. My goodness.
Special shout out to the owner for providing an educator discount (discount for military too), and that means a lot to me. I appreciate the support. Keep doing what you are doing.
