The specialty sandwiches were 18$ and very good, but, inconsistently made. We went there three days in a row and got the same thing and all three days it was made differently. Too much balsamic one day I couldn’t even taste the meat. The eggplant is soaked in balsamic one day and not the next .. it was better without. One day many tomatoes, the next, very few. But they were good. I would go back. They have Italian soda which is simply flavored syrup in soda water which was actually pretty good. They have a few sugar-free flavors as well.

The sandwiches here are so good — they seriously remind me of classic New York deli sandwiches! The bread is incredibly soft, they use shredded lettuce (which makes such a difference!), and they even have a delicious eggplant sandwich for non-meat eaters like me. My husband loved his sandwich too, and he’s usually not even a fan of cold sandwiches — that says a lot! We’ll definitely be back.

I would give this deli 10 stars if I could. You walk in and it feels like you’ve walked through a time warp and are walking in to an old fashion deli shop from the 50s. Super friendly service, the bread is all soft and fresh, the deli meats are shaved to perfection and the amount of fresh deli meats and cheese is outstanding. Every bite of my sandwich was on point. Highly recommend!

Great selection of imported goods from the Mediterranean. Including my favorite oil cured olives from Morocco.
Had one of the best sandwich’s ever as well. Fresh chicken and provolone. Can’t go wrong with this place.

Sandwich was so good. Added extras like avocado and the artichoke pesto. It was totally worth the money. Ive been talking the place up to co-workers ever since I went today (1-7-26).

It’s a old school deli. Been there nearly 100 years and you can tell in a good way. Everything is fresh and put together right before your eyes. Tons of options and while not the cheapest sandwich the taste more than justifies the price. Very friendly staff. Old school charm. Excellent selection. What can I say besides I’ll be back!

I used to visit the shop in Berkeley in college before it closed. So excited to grab a sandwich with son after a soccer game. Classic sandwiches and go to place for authentic Italian grocery store. We had a great roast beef and Italian combo. Genova sourdough bread is awesome.

There is not a sandwich combination that would disappoint. You can get delicious cheese, dinner or lunch here. Don’t miss out.

This is the original store . Two to three times the size of Walnut Creek. Same food and about the same service. Although she made my sandwich dry, Dijon mustard with oil and vinegar has never been so dry. Maybe it was the excess lettuce with no double oil and vinegar. Nevertheless, when Food QUALITY is universal. It’s kind of hard to mess up. Next time I’ll sit outside.

Man, I miss real delis like this!
This traditional Italian delicatessen will transport you back to a simpler time. If you’re tired of supermarket “delis” with their mass production food stuffs, try Genova’s. Coffee bar, sandwiches, authentic italian raviolis and pasta… I could stay all day.
