Delicious food, fair prices, friendly and efficient waitstaff. We were greeted with a basket of garlic bread (more than enough for our party of four) sprinkled with herbs, to accompany our bar order. We followed up with steamer clams in a garlicky broth. Good quantity, great taste, and perfect for dipping the bread into. Our main dish was the chicken stromboli. Pleasant crust and good filling, although I’d like some piquancy or red pepper flakes to make it sing. Even though we were already full, we split the tiramisu and were glad we did. The ladyfingers had absorbed just enough liquid to be soft, yet not mushy. The filling was well done, although letting the dessert sit out for ten minutes before serving would have been a nice improvement, giving the custard a bit more softness as far as mouthfeel.

If you’re looking for generic, chain-restaurant service (ala Black Bear Diner) this probably isn’t your place. It’s actually a bit upscale compared to what we’ve experienced previously in Madras. But for that reason alone it will be our stop on our way through.

They gave our table of 7 reservation away because, “it got really crowded.” We had to wait almost 30 past our reservation time as they cleaned up tables. Then we waited 10 mins before anyone came over to greet us and another 8 mins for a glass of water. The bread came out about 2 mins before dinner.

We were there for a 91st birthday and one of the waitstaff even KNEW our guest of honor and she STILL didn’t make sure we got our drinks or apps before dinner.

Eggplant parmigiana was so burned I had to pick off the breading and it was covered in yellow cheese, ya’ll. Like, the Mexican blend shredded stuff we use on taco night. The cheese stuck to my silverware and was just too much. Another really weird thing, these eggplants were the size of small plates. Not cut lengthwise, but just really big and thick circles. The chew factor was intense. The pasta and sauce were very good underneath.

My partners spaghetti and meatballs were … interesting. Black olives all over the top and very small balls. Such small meatballs, I was glad we didn’t get the 3 for $9 appetizer. They had great flavor, but way to small. As a Italian gal who has eaten all over the US, I’ve never seen so many olives outside a tapanade.

They packed up our leftovers and I was shocked hours later to go get a snack and grab the container only to have it practically fall apart in my hands, bending at the heaviest part and spilling leftovers all over our motel room floor. If it wasn’t hardwood, I would have made them pay the clean up fees. They use paper type bowls and banquet wrap it with foil. Which was great when it was hot and fresh and 100% awful after the saucey goodness seeps into the paper … Sigh. Super disappointed with this busy restaurant.

Have been here twice in the past month, first time was just a pizza. Not traditional crust, but it was good. Second time was lunch, the have a great selection to choose from and reasonable prices. Lunch waitress was fantastic, very personable, and friendly. She was right there to refill our glasses before we even finished the first one. Highly recommend and we will be back, and will recommend.

I stopped by at Geno’s Italian Grill with my family when we were travelling through Redmond OR. We were looking for a nice restaurant with delicious meals, – and although the location was a bit far from our route and from downtown, – but the reviews here convinced us to give this place a try. Altogether we had a great time, and I can recommend Geno’s for a try!
About our experience: It was pretty easy to find Geno’s. The staff was super friendly, although a bit slow for our liking — our meals came pretty slow and we ended up spending there like two hours. The meals were awesome, we liked them a lot: their specialty soup is truly special (I personally didn’t like it), the halibut fish-n-chis is one of the bests we’ve had, their stake is good but a bit pricey, and the pear chicken salad was good as well. The prices of the meals are fine: slightly on the expensive end, but not too bad.

The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. A bonus for my husband is there were a couple of TVs showing the World Series. We were seated immediately. The wine was reasonably priced and nice. The food arrived timely and was very good. The portions were fairly large.

We decided to take a chance on this place on our way to Bend – mainly because Black Bear Diner was really busy. As it turns out we probably could have waited, gotten better service and definitely would have gotten better food…
Service: poor to awful. We waited a few minutes to be acknowledged by the waitress (manager was tending the unoccupied bar and wouldnt make eye contact) and were seated shortly after. Once seated, the waitress brought our menus and explained they were coming off of a big rush of customers (there were only 5 occupied tables) and then she went off to help other customers. It took a good 15 minutes for her to return and take our order, then another 20 minutes to bring our orders (pear chicken salad and a chicken Caesar salad). We weren’t happy with the quality of the food (more on that later) and we told them that when they asked how it was. Rather than checking if they could do anything to make things right, the waitress decided to act confused and the manager was outright dismissive.
Food: quality produce, good portions, chicken (if you can call it that) was disgusting. It was supposed to be grilled but it was clearly boiled and I’m not convinced it was real chicken breast or some abomination like that pink sludge they make chicken nuggets out of, but with no flavor whatsoever. Waters were also full of dust particles which won’t kill you but…gross.
Should you go here? F no.

My husband took me to dinner at Geno’s as part of my Christmas present. We will be back again and again and again. It was one of the best dinners I have ever had. They obviously have a highly qualified chef!! The atmosphere was pleasant and the service excellent. And all this at a very reasonable price. Try it, you won’t be sorry!!
