Everything was cool until I saw the mushrooms. I’ve had some big mushrooms before from genki sushi, and still do, not from this one though, always get super small mushrooms here man. The second photo is from pearlridge Genkis, and everytime I go there that’s the same size that I always get when I order there instead, compared to the Ewa one.

To be honest, I went into this place with low expectations. Below 4 star rating and I wanted a conveyor belt sushi, which this claims to be, and it is NOT a conveyor belt (there’s not even a conveyor anywhere in the restaurant). Seems as if the conveyor was replaced by a robot server. But I will admit, I was pleasantly surprised with everything I ate. The nigiri was big slices and the spicy items were spicy. Still not sure how I feel about the robot, and this web page needs to be updated as not a conveyor belt

Been going to this location for years. I think the goal currently is on saving money for the restaurant.
1. The portions have drastically been reduced.
2. The seating is uncomfortable and space is limited when there are parties greater than 4. No booths exist in this restaurant.
3. The robot is ok but not worth the hype. Some tables aren’t served by it anyway.
4. Refilling water and tea is a challenge. That’s the nicest way I can put it. So is anything else you need a live person for.
5. While we used to go at least once a week, I doubt we’ll be back. It wasn’t very busy at 7pm which we assume means we’re probably late to getting the memo. LOL
No one likes mediocre self service, small portions, and higher prices.

Genki Sushi is a great place on the islands when you have a hankering for some authentic and fresh sushi and poke. Very friendly staff, and the food was delicious, and ordering was so much fun!

The server was so rude when we walked in! She told us to wait outside without looking at us. Her tone and attitude was unacceptable poor customer service. We went somewhere where we were comfortable.

I like the food here. We always stop here when I visit. The kids love gyoza’s here but something changed and now they don’t like it. I like the funness of ordering and the variety. The other day ordered a bento box it never came, so we cancelled it. But, we loved the cups they gave the kids. I liked the tempura, the corn dish, the tuna was rich this time, I also like the egg seaweed. But I did get up twice to get help, and also it could be cleaner, we were there at lunch.

Don’t have the fancy ordering system. Has the sushi revolving rail but not the electronic ordering tablet nor the delivery train.
Squid was too think and soba noodle was awful. Had no flavour even after dumping the whole sauce. Go to other genki locations.

Like the Ewa Beach Genki Sushi very much. They don’t mind giving someone eating alone a booth. Because of arthritis sitting at the counter is very uncomfortable, even painful, so obviously not a way to enjoy a meal. I get there when they open so am gone before most of the lunch crowd arrives. The new strawberry cheesecake was good.
