A fantastic find! I drive through St Charles many times a year and have mostly stuck to restaurants near the interstate, but this one is worth driving into town for! The service is incredibly friendly – the gentleman routinely engaged the children and made them feel welcome. The atmosphere is clean and airy, with seasonal decorations.

Excellent food and service! We tried the torta Cubana, quesadilla birria and a pork tamal. We loved it all! We have a lot of experience with traditional Mexican food and can vouch that this place is legit. It is family friendly with space outside as well as a wide selection of Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream flavors. We are so happy we stopped and look forward to coming back with the kids soon.

Genesis is a small gem in of a restaurant. The food is delicious with a good variety of choices plus the staff is welcoming and friendly. The place is small and clean with a great location near the crossroads of St. Charles and Hwy 74 (minutes south of Whitewater State Park). Plus they have ice cream and I’m looking forward to trying the Mangonada.

Genesis in St. Charles is high quality Mexican food, which we have been anxiously awaiting! They also serve burgers and American food, as well as a full breakfast menu. We ordered the Asada (steak) burrito and chicken tacos. The tacos were street taco style which were delicious. The food is not spicy, so you can add your own hot sauce or use their homemade sauce to your liking. When we entered to pick up our takeout, a huge sizzling skillet of fajitas was coming out for a customer and it smelled and looked incredible. Highly recommend Genesis restaurant!
Edit 5/1/22: We dined in for breakfast and their menu has expanded, with digital menus instead of a chalkboard. I got eggs Benedict and my husband got a Burrito. They have a new hot sauce that’s spicy and creamy, it was delicious.

The food was amazing. Best refried beans ever. The Torta Cubana is one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I love this place and I wish I lived closer so I can come more often. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend.

Had the Chicken Quesadilla, which was one of the best quesadillas I’ve ever had. They provided chips and bean dip free before we got our food, which didn’t take long at all.
The customer service is amazing, and they’re always checking to see if we need anything.
Definitely one of the best local restaurants around and highly recommended stopping by for anything from a 20-inch taco to ice cream.

I wish this was a little closer to Rochester because I would eat here all the time. The food is always delicious and fresh, portions are good, and it’s nice to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.

I was in town for work so I stopped by on my lunch. This place is so good! It’s affordable, good portions and flavorful! I got the chicken tacos. It also came with a side of chips and beans. I will definitely be back!
