One of the old times beer bars that was around forever. Got wine too now. Lucy the weekend Bartender is famous. They all are great people. This is the place where they know you. Staff and customers too. Stopped by late Friday for a hot dog and listened to some music.

This may be, hands down, the best dive bar I’ve ever been to. It was my dad’s favorite when he was in school there in the 60s and now I know why. The bartenders were GREAT! The owner, Al, couldn’t have been any more friendly. All the locals were welcoming. The beer selection was great. The chili dogs were awesome. The prices can’t be beat! The band was very good. I was there with four friends and they all agree that it’s a great place. We didn’t even bother to go anyplace else while we were in town.

What a find! Here for a Mountaineer game and stumbled into Gene’s. So good we went back for round 2 later that night. Locals and others were super friendly and my first Roni Roll was solid. A must place to visit while in town.

Gene’s is a Morgantown institution. One of the few remaining neighborhood dive bars. My favorite place to see a live show and run into my neighbor or a long lost friend. Lucy is the bomb. Al is the bomb. Come on, come all to Gene’s- you won’t be sorry!
