I wanted to share my heartfelt appreciation for the welcoming atmosphere at General’s. The staff, including the lovely Ms Debra, creates a warm and homely ambiance that makes every visit special. Having a person like Ms Debra to look forward to seeing when I dine at General’s truly enhances the overall experience. It’s not just about the food; it’s the intangible feeling of being welcomed and valued as a guest. Looking forward to seeing them again this fall. Thank you!

This Dining hall was the place to go during the fall but… it’s definitely not lived up to the expectation in the spring. Serving breakfast for dinner…c’Mon now. Desserts are okay. They usually always have ice cream so no biggie. Food wise, I’d say review the menu and definitely add a pasta bar. That’s a big reason why old main market typically has better food options.

Went with our son for move in weekend. Good food selection. Kids are lucky with all the choices.

I actually like the food here at generals. They have at least one good thing each time you come. The staff is friendly to the students, and the fun events they put on throughout the year is very appreciated. I love the Thanksgiving meals and Mardi Gras meals they put on. At the end of the month they have birthday cake for students who had their birthday that month. Can’t forget their smoothies they have occasionally. I wish they did those more often because me and my friends would always get 3-4 they were so good

The food here is always good and fresh. The portions are not huge the size that a person should be eating (of course you can go for more, if you want).

The food is good enough, but the cleanliness of the dishes concerns me. It’s the second day of school, and both days the cups I’ve gotten (which I watched be put out) have still been a bit dirty. I’d be grossed out anyways, but with the pandemic going on, I would hope that more attention would be paid to the cleanliness of things that are specifically meant to touch your mouth.

If I could give it a zero rating, I would. I don’t know how they pass inspection but apparently they did. To begin all the cups are dirty, there is always some type of food lingering around the inside of a cup, which is funny because nobody puts food into the cups. Sometimes there is even lip stains on the cup. Whatever they are using to wash the cups, clearly it’s not working. Moving on to the silverware, I often find pieces of food stuck to the inside and one time while looking for a spoon, in the holder there was one that clearly had not seen a dishwasher all day. It’s cone to the point where I bring my own cup and/or ask for paper and plastic items. Now on to the food. It is depressing. At the beginning of the semester I would get up and get an omelet and they would actually taste good, now for some strange reason, they are experimenting with how the omelets are made. Please stop, it’s not working. Cooking the onions and stuff ahead of time doesn’t actually save any time because the omelette has to cook and so does the meat (onions can be cooked with meat). Speaking of meat, for some reason they don’t always serve the option of bacon or ham for the omelet. Also they should slow down on the oil use, I should not have to pat my omelet dry before eating it.Fruit is cut too early or put out too late, watermelon is never sweet, grapes were mushy. The chicken is rarely, if ever, properly cooked. I will say that I do like the choice of cereal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch is good, wish they would add coconut milk. I could go on and on with my complaints about the food but this is long enough already. You get the point. If meal plan was not required when living in campus, I would not have one!! Do not waste your time here. Don’t let them trick you with the advertising, the food is nasty.

While they have a variety of food choices constantly changing, some may not always be the most suitable. Even if you find their food on unappetizing that day. they always have pizza readily available and it’s not bad at all!

This is not your father’s school cafeteria. This eating establishment serves all types of food at various food prep stations. The food is prepared right in front of you and usually very fresh. They have a nice selection of grilled food salads Pizza baked food desserts and they even have vegan options.

It is not worth your money for the money you pay in your meal plan. It is good in the beginning but as the year sags on, so does the food. The point being; this place beats old main and only the waffles are what I eat a lot here. I will probably not get another meal plan so neither should you. The only upside is the variety they “try” to give you. Yeah the tacos give you Montezuma’s Revenge but Hey, variety!
