This place makes their own everything and uses all butter (seems sorta silly but lots of bakeries cut the butter in their baked goods for ease of making and cost). We had their breakfast sandwich and pancakes. The sandwich was on a homemade bun which was like a biscuit and a bun had a baby – soft, buttery and almost fall apart tender yet sturdy enough to maintain sandwich integrity – unique and delicious! The bacon was also thick, crispy and super tasty. The pancakes were also clearly homemade, not a mix, and were well done, soft but had some body, and very flavorful. Service was fast, professional and courteous. 10/10!

My husband and I were traveling home from New England to KY just after Christmas. We had never been to New York before and knew we had to get a bagel before going home. I ordered the Salmon bagel with everything on it (onion, tomato and capers). Wow. Honestly, I almost shed a tear it was so good. We got croissants to go, and those were amazing as well. The shop is adorable, I wish we lived nearby so we could be regulars! Will definitely need to visit again!

I just tried the chicken pesto parmesan sandwich. On oct. 4th around 2:30 pm we waited about 10-15 mins. We were the only ones in the store and once I received my sandwhich I was not disappointed. I have never had this before and it easily exceeded my expectations. Great job! Worth every penny!

I’ve been wanting to try this place since it first opened. The oatmeal raisin cookie was incredible! I certainly would go back for their baked goods.

Their potato salad was okay. I think it could have used a bit more mustard.

The chicken orzo soup was good, but a bit pricey.

I’m happy to see that building finally occupied again! I hope General Bakeshop does well.

I’m local to the are and me and my boyfriend stopped in to get a little treat! And I was absolutely blown away, the staff was so friendly and kind and one of the girls complimented me and I don’t think she realizes that she made my day! We got an almond croissant, a molasses cookie and onion and poppy seed bagels with cream cheese! And I can’t forget about the absolute best Iced Chai i have ever had!! so delicious and the quality is worth the price point which isn’t even that bad! super delicious!

The menu may be small, but the flavor is big!! Breakfast is served all day, and lunch is served from 12 to 3pm. I had the breakfast sandwich, which comes with 2 cage free scrambled eggs, bakers bacon(not exactly sure what that is, but it was good, lol) and cheese on a brewster bun. The inside of the bread was perfectly toasted and buttered, and you could taste the crisp edges with each bite of the edge of the brewster bun. I ordered a side of the home fries, and I was not disappointed!!! I’m assuming rosemary and thyme. The home fries had some crisp to them but were also soft. The cook personally brought the food out along with a pitcher of water. To go, I left with a cinnamon spice doughnut and a jelly doughnut with a house made jelly. While sitting there, I saw someone order a slice of the carrot cake, I asked how it was, and they swore by it. I decided to take a slice of that home also.

Everything is so delicious!! They make everything in house and you can tell. Where do you get an amazing sandwich where the bread was actually baked there that day!? The staff is so nice and friendly. Totally worth checking out!

Best baguettes in NY or CT. Dave is a master craftsman. Staff is super friendly. Chocolate pudding pie, cheese danish and banana bread are theeeeeeee best anywhere. You’ll see. Trust me.

The food was unbelievably good! The staff were very friendly, and it was cute inside. Highly recommend the croque monsieur pastry. It’s pretty close to the train station, too.
