Our first waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there and seemed in a hurry to take our order. We ordered stake and never got it. At one point we got switched with a different waiter without being told and the first waiter never brought us our stake so we ordered it again. We still hadn’t received it and decided to leave after waiting over 25 minutes. I completely understand if it got forgotten once but twice is ridiculous especially because the tables next to us kept receiving food after they ordered after us AND they had the same waiter. DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION.

Tonight’s dining experience was absolutely terrible. We waited in line for an hour and a half, and they made us wait even longer. The first time, we waited 15 minutes, but the system couldn’t find our record. They said they had added us back in. After 30 minutes, the staff told us it would be our turn in 23 minutes. After 23 minutes, we asked if there were any seats available, and they said it would be another 43 minutes. We asked why 23 minutes had become 43 minutes, and the staff replied that someone had registered online, so our time was extended! What a ridiculous logic! We had to queue again and again, my child was starving, and I really don’t understand the point of queuing here. The dining time here is completely controlled by the servers; it’s not first-come, first-served at all. They made us wait indefinitely, so we decided to leave! I will never come to this restaurant again; the service was terrible!

This Korean BBQ was cute and fun. I did all you can eat. You only get one steak and one long rib, but everything else was all you can eat. Shrimp included as well. Service wasn’t bad, atmosphere was fun. Even tried dessert. Hot dumplings filled with what seemed to be apple and nuts and the smaller dessert had a mango sauce. It’s was ok. I think I might have been more interested in the ice cream macaron sandwich’s that were by the cash register that I did not try. Overall, not bad.

Located on Grand Ave. near Peyton Dr. with plenty of parking. We stopped here this Saturday to have lunch with friends.
Dinner menu only, available on weekends with the option to upgrade to Premium. Plenty of meat options are available. My ultimate favorite is always their Angus Brisket. I also enjoyed a ‘Yakult Strawberry Soju’ cocktail with my meal. Everything tasted amazing and super fresh.
Service was fast and efficient. Every single staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful, especially when it came to changing out our grill. Shout out to our server, Ivan who was very attentive and helpful with the menu items. He did not rush us at all.
The restaurant is very clean and organized. The restrooms were spotless.
Overall, we had a pleasant experience at this Gen and will definitely return.

Very slow service, but they seem pretty short staffed. I felt bad for our server who had to take care of 8 out of the 10 tables. Our server often brought out the wrong order. Never came back to refill our drinks. The other server who only waited on 2 or 3 other tables, couldn’t give us water or extra napkins and said that we had to wait for our own server. The vent hood that should be removing the smoke from the grill didn’t work well and smoke was getting into our eyes the whole meal. Not planning on coming back here anytime soon.

Gen used to be an okay Korean BBQ place that I would occasionally go with friends, however with recent changes and obviously being understaffed, it’s clear that the quality in both food and service has taken a huge nosedive.

The most egregious change that apparently was made recently, was that they no longer will change your grill. Instead, you are required to utilize a radish to “season” the grill before putting meat on. As you can tell from the attached photo, this obviously did not work. When we asked for a new grill since our grill was charred, one of the waiters snapped at us and said “We no longer do grill changes. You need to use this.” Sure, I’ll get to that.

We’re already cooking the food, why do we need to also clean the grills as well? If we need to do that, at least give us proper tools instead of just a radish. Until all this changes, go anywhere else but here. Seriously.

This is definitely a zero star review!!!
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU WANT ALL YOU CAN EAT KBBQ! There was no wait for a reason…the food quality is sub-par, slow to no service, non functioning grills. My family spent 2.5 hours watching the grill “simmer” our food. Grills were NOT hot at all so food took forever to cook. My kids were so hungry waiting for the food that they had to fill themselves on rice. There was no manager on site to help us. It was just a bunch of young kids trying their best but there was no guidance. We left an all you can eat kbbq… hungry. We will never come back. Stick with Wang Cho!

As someone who works in the service industry myself, I understand that things can get hectic, so I don’t take writing negative reviews lightly. That said, my recent experience at Gen Korean BBQ was genuinely disappointing. From the start, the service was not up to standard. My friend and I waited an unreasonably long time for nearly every item we ordered. Our server forgot multiple requests, and we had to follow up more than once; including for basic things like drink refills, which took over 15 minutes to arrive. What really stood out above all of that was how long it took just to get our check. We waited more than 30 minutes before I finally had to walk over to the register to ask for it directly. That shouldn’t happen. I also attempted to speak with a manager about the experience, but I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer with a valid concern. It felt dismissive and unprofessional. I’m not writing this to be harsh, but to express real disappointment in how the night went. I hope management takes this as constructive feedback and works on improving service and communication, because the experience as it stands made it hard to enjoy what should have been a fun dinner.

I’ve been to a few Gen Korean BBQ restaurants and have loved the experience and the food. Today I took my mom to this location and the service was so bad. It took 20 minutes just to get our drink orders in. We ordered two apps and got them an hour into our meal. The people next to us got up and left because they were there before us and still had not had drinks. After they were gone some food they had ordered was dropped off and we told the food runner that we’d take it so that we could at least have something in the meantime. We kept getting other people’s orders and didn’t receive what we would ask for until we asked multiple times. It took a long time to get anything at all (including the grills changed which resulted in a lot of smoke in our faces and in the faces of the people at the table beside us). I had ordered green tea which was never brought and I was still charged for it. Honestly my mom and I were so disappointed and didn’t even get to enjoy our food. The other two tables near us also had issues with getting attention/food/grill changes but there was one table I kept glancing over at because they got everything they asked for right away (must be nice) so it was a little annoying that the rest of us had to see that while we’re exchanging plates with the table next to us because they delivered food to the wrong table ‍♀️
I really don’t like to leave bad reviews like this but the entire experience was just so bad /:
