I enjoy Gen BBQ. We stick to the same boring choices of steak, chicken, and shrimp. Nothing fancy. I enjoy the appetizers and appreciate the additions to the menu. I do wish they offered more vegetable options. The service was great, contrary to the reviews I read, our server Ari was on point and was his bell person. We did not wait for our meats or our appetizers. I, however, do not like the slippery floors and the dim lighting. I feel that can be improved. The wait to be seated was long, but expected. We were in and out in an hour after being seated. All in all, good experience. Kids love it and we eat to our hearts’ content.

Gen Korean BBQ is easily one of the best spots to enjoy an all you can eat experience with friends and family. This particular location stands out for many reasons. First off, parking is never an issue there’s an abundance of spaces available, along with convenient electric charging stations for those with EVs, which is a thoughtful touch. The restaurant itself is spacious, probably one of the largest Gen locations I’ve visited, and it’s always lively with great energy. Even on weekends when it’s packed, the wait times are very reasonable usually no longer than 40 minutes, which is impressive considering how popular it is. The service here has always been excellent, the staff are attentive, friendly, and quick to bring out orders or assist with grill changes. The food is consistently top notch fresh meats, flavorful marinades, and a great variety of options. The drinks are equally enjoyable, making it easy to relax and have a good time. Overall, this Gen Korean BBQ location delivers every time. Whether you’re here for a casual night out or a celebration, you can count on great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We opted for the thirty dollars per person special instead of the fifty, but boy did we ever get a bang for our buck. Tasty marinades for huge chunks of meat at All You Can Eat at this Korean barbecue restaurant. Delicious desserts of mango bites or Korean stuffed sweet pancakes. And the staff is so helpful and hardworking and so accommodating and sweet, including with recommendations with what to eat and how to grill it. Wait time for us after signing up on the wait list via online was only five minutes although most during peak hours wait thirty minutes. Hamsamnida.

Korean barbecue was decent but not memorable. The food was fine, though not among the better spots. Lack of large bottles of sriracha and main sauces made the experience frustrating. Service was somewhat slow, but staff clearly tried and remained very friendly and responsive throughout. For a first Korean barbecue visit, this works as an accessible introduction. For better value and stronger flavor, Koreatown locations set a higher standard.

The food at Gen KBBQ was decent, and the service was fine, but the overall experience was affected by how loud it was inside. The noise level made it hard to enjoy the meal or have a normal conversation. It’s a lively spot, but a bit too loud for my taste.

Just left here about an hour ago. Long story short my partner and I both have food poisoning.
Food: I ordered bulgogi & Hawaiian steak, my partner ordered spicy chicken and honey garlic chicken(he doesn’t eat red meat). The bulgogi was not the best I’ve had, however I ate it all because my partner made an effort to take me on a date. Some of the chicken seemed like it was white meat and some dark when cooked, it tasted like bologna. I asked the service member “is this chicken thighs? Or what part of the chicken is this?” They tell me “it’s really not white or dark meat, it’s random cubed body parts of the entire chicken” so I say “just random pieces of the WHOLE chicken?” And he says “yes!” like hello? Pls don’t say we’re eating chicken . We stopped eating after that got the check and went home. YOU CAN NOT EFFECTIVELY COOK CHICKEN BREAST AND CHICKEN THIGH TOGETHER without knowing which is which. They require different cooking times. That would have been nice to know upon ordering that we’re getting mystery chicken parts.
Service: we were seated at a booth with a broken dim light. We had to remind them 3-4 times to bring us forks, extra tongs, beverages. While grilling our food, they kept coming by to turn our heat on high from medium and not letting us now so our marinated chicken kept burning.
Anyway, I have diarrhea and my partner has been puking since we started our drive back home. Never again.

Really good! We had a bunch of different types of meat and they were all good! The star was the pork chop and cheese katsu, that thing was
amazing! The Korean pancakes are also very good!
Only reason for the 4 is because sometimes we would order stuff but they wouldn’t bring everything we ordered and just kept it moving as if we didn’t order it. Other than that the service was really good and I would definitely be coming back! I didn’t take more photos, everything smelt so good I forgot to do that when we started

2nd time here.
We need reservation before seated.
Dim lighting, trying to project as romantic quiet plsmace.
Unfortunately, it came as completely the opposite. The music was so loud, that we had to request to tune down the volume.
The waiting staff wss very slow, unresponsive to request for service.
The BBQ meat was acceptable, quite fresh.
Impression of the restaurant is quite negstive.

A classic Korean BBQ joint. No frills just all you can handle at this delicious chain in LA county. Make sure you come at an appropriate time because you will have to wait during peak hours. You know the place is legit when the floor is slippery as hell, you learn that from experience.

this is a one star experience. I only gave it 5 stars so more people can see this review. nobody ever read one star reviews and all of them are correct. this place is no longer Korean. it has no Korean feel. no Korean staff, and ever since the drama that this corporate has done to their staff has made genbbq one of the worst Korean BBQ spots. we only came here because the good family run kbbq in gardena closed early tonight. the staff are sociable in the beginning, but it all went downhill when they were getting our orders wrong, they’re sold out, and there’s too many unnecessary added on menu like japanese dishes in a Korean BBQ. tonkatsu, among others are unnecessary
gen didn’t used to be like this and now they have scrappy deep fried stuff, sides like Kim chi are frozen, and again staff kept ignoring our requests. we were done before they could bring more meats. I ended up eating sticky uncooked rice. I just wanted to pay and leave. the experience was not worth repeating. last time I came here was 2 years ago, it’s still the same. never again until they get rid of all the filler. keep it simple. meat cuts and kimchi.
